Designation: Sierra-8

Codename: Sundowners

Garrison/HQ: Site-002

Role: Protection of Authority assets; Homicide, Vice, Anomaly, Cartage, and Special Investigations.

Motto: "Non Poterunt" (They Cannot Prevail)

Established: 19th December 1918

Description: MST Sierra-8 is an investigative task force assigned to protecting Authority assets from internal and external threats. MST Sierra-8 investigators are procured through exchange programs with various law enforcement agencies throughout the world, as well as hiring private investigators. However, purpose-training investigators through apprenticeships are also possible.

MST SIerra-8 Investigators are assigned to one of the various departments, namely the Homicide, Vice, Anomaly, and Cartage departments. Agreements with various governments have been made to seamlessly integrate the investigators with the pertinent country's police department and/or other investigative agencies if they take a public case. Investigators may take on a case from a different department if they are competent in the field or have received a direct order from the Task Force Commander. MST Sierra-8 Investigators mainly work on their own and would usually take over cases from any police department or investigation agencies if they so wish. However, joint operations may be initiated with permission from the Task Force Commander.

When receiving a case, MST Sierra-8 investigators may be complemented with Crime Scene Unit (CSU) agents comprised of ASF personnel that have received Forensics education and training. The need for a coroner may be fulfilled by any available surgeon with relevant qualifications from the nearest site.

FirstGen

The first generation of Sierra-8 (Cartage) investigators and administrators. 20/12/1918.

MST Sierra-8 was established as a counter-attack to the rising threats sourcing from the newly formed American Continental Syndicate. Initially, the Authority suffered little-to-no damage from the actions of the Syndicate in its infancy. However, in 1917, several attacks on the Authority's assets across the United States were carried out with a similar modus operandi in each instance. The Board of Global Directors unanimously agreed to establish MST Sierra-8 on 19/12/1918.

Investigation Departments

Homicide

The Homicide Department investigates cases revolving around the deaths, murders, and suicide of Authority Personnel, including CSD personnel.

Common Cases: Murder, Capital Murder, Manslaughter, Criminal Negligent Homicide, Suicide, Abuse of Corpse, etc.

Vice

Vice Investigators specialize in cases around indecency of Authority personnel—most notably crimes against personnel families, special victims (women and children), the abuse of alcoholic and/or narcotic substances, and pornography.

Common Cases: Special Victims, Prostitution, Multimedia Crimes, Human Trafficking, Sex Crimes, Narcotics, Alcohol, Domestic Violence, etc.

Anomaly

Also known as the Unexplained Phenomenons, this department is tasked to investigate any and all events deemed to be in the realms of the extra-natural and/or cases involving RPC objects. Anomaly Investigators must take an extra aptitude test and physical exam in addition to a thorough memetic screening before being assigned to an Anomaly case.

Common Cases: Unexplained Deaths, Unexplained Phenomenons, RPC Object Crimes, RPC Object Homicide, RPC Object Deaths, etc.

Cartage

The first and the largest department to be operational within MST Sierra-8. The Cartage Department involves the investigation of cases revolving Authority's day-to-day activities, such as Air, Sea, and Land Traffic; Assets and Finances; Missing Personnel; and Robbery. Due to the sensitive nature of their cases, Cartage Investigators are often granted "Subpoena Overrides", allowing the investigators to request any information deemed useful to their investigations that may only be available to personnel beyond their security clearances.

Common Cases: Missing Personnel, Robbery, Burglary, Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Prohibition of the Purchase and Sale of Human Organs, Fraud, Grand Larceny, Missing Cargo, etc.

Special Investigations (SI)

Also known as GD's Investigator, this department specializes in cases deemed to be overtly sensitive and/or confidential in nature. SI investigators receive orders and report directly to the Global Directors, superseding the Division Commander. Unlike the other investigation departments, SI investigators can be flexibly transferred in and out of the department—usually handpicking an investigator with a certain set of skills in accordance with the case's needs.

Common Cases: Cold Cases, Criminal Enterprise, Major Cases, [REDACTED], [REDACTED], etc.
