Terrible Trio » Prolab containment cell design used in slave pen construction
Among the Protection Division, the ACI holds a unique animosity towards Kabushiki Kawaii. The group’s use of blackmail and intimidation against key Authority members has led to much critical information to leak out, chief among them a number of containment cell designs by Prolab.
On December 4th 2005, the ACI recovered internal footage from a Kabushiki Kawaii holding center that showed multiple victims being held in a pen with the same layout and design as the 1994 Standard grouped anomaly containment chamber. The chamber was previously decommissioned due to ethical concerns regarding wall-mounted harnesses, electrified floors and general lack of livable space - none of which was changed for this location.
The internal investigation that followed caused numerous complaints citing ACI agents overstepping their boundaries and restrictions during their investigation, increasing tensions between the two departments. The Presidium was forced to step in after two Prolab employees came to blows, a Containment Specialist with a missing daughter and a Research Staff member that was struggling to pay medical bills. Neither were found guilty of leaking the documents.
In truth, this is not an isolated incident: Kabushiki Kawaii has often used blackmail, payment or hostile group activity information to gain access to blueprints, formulae and other data to expand their capabilities. Even though much of these sources are outdated or decommissioned due to dangerous design, the group prefers them compared to their modern counterparts due to laxer security measures protecting them.
