Containment Protocols: RPC-565 is housed within a 50mx100mx10m containment unit in a low-level Containment Wing of Site-016. The floor of RPC-565's containment unit must be illuminated with 3.2 lux of artificial light between 4-6 A.M. and 6-8 P.M. RPC-565's containment enclosure will be restocked with a shipment of the following on a bi-monthly basis:

• A female domestic goat for milk production
• 20 kg of grain.
• 240 cans of tuna.

Due to the self-sufficient nature of RPC-565, no further accommodations are necessary. Only authorized personnel may interact with any RPC-565-A instances. Disposal of RPC-565-B carcasses that have expired from natural causes such as old age is not necessary due to the cultural practices of RPC-565. Under no circumstances are any members of the canid family to enter the proximity of RPC-565.

Update 4/5/12: It has been confirmed that approximately 10 RPC-565 communities exist outside of Authority custody. All discovered populations are in the process of being apprehended and relocated to the nearest appropriate containment site. As of documentation, one instance of RPC-565 is held by the People's Committee for the Acquisition of Anomalous Objects.

Description: RPC-565 refers to a community of 124 organisms physically identical to domestic cats, with RPC-565-B denoting the person. Each individual is sapient and capable of manipulating tools with their front digits despite lacking opposable thumbs. RPC-565-B instances are most active between 04:00 - 06:00 A.M. and 6 - 8 P.M. While RPC-565-B instances are capable of engaging in conversation with human beings, adult RPC-565-B instances primarily utilize infrasound¹ communication when among themselves.

RPC-565 practices a form of government resembling late Medieval European feudalism and adheres to an unidentified denomination of Christianity. RPC-565-Bs resides within small, vertically stacked buildings ranging from 5 - 10 meters tall. These dwellings are constructed from wood, stone, concrete, and iron. The building layout consists of 2-5 modules, with at least one dedicated to housing RPC-565-B instances and the appropriate storage space for their required equipment. Other modules include communal grooming centers, raw material storage, and waste disposal. All RPC-565-B instances are born with an innate understanding of their societal function and do not require education or training to perform their duties. While all RPC-565-B instances partake in labor, childcare is a duty most often performed by females. When a female RPC-565-B instance is incapable of caring for its children, other female instances will take on the duties usually associated with motherhood, such as grooming and feeding juvenile RPC-565-B instances. The following roles are present in RPC-565 society:

RPC-565-B3	RPC-565-B3 function as priests and are responsible for religious activities, including funerals. Most RPC-565-B3 instances are clad in black robes. RPC-565-B3 instances are lead by a high priest denoted by its white robes and mitre.2	10
RPC-565-B4	RPC-565-B4 are responsible for the production and repair of RPC-565's goods and infrastructure. All settlements in RPC-565 are constructed by RPC-565-B4.	35
RPC-565-B5	RPC-565-B5 act as RPC-565's military and foragers. RPC-565-B5 instances are mostly female and utilize metallic armor alongside an assortment of bladed and ranged weaponry. Attacks from instances are often painful but rarely fatal.	20
RPC-565-B6	RPC-565-B6 form RPC-565's nobility. RPC-565-B6 instances are clad in a variety of different fabrics and jewelry produced by RPC-565-B4 instances.	5

Some RPC-565-B instances, such as RPC-565-B1 and B4, are capable of limited matter transmutation through touch. RPC-565-B1 are capable of transmuting any surface into fertile soil³ while RPC-565-B4 instances can transform one alloyed or pure metallic substance into another of the same nature. Matter directly below soil planted by RPC-565-B1 instances will transmute into stone and raw minerals to be mined by RPC-565-B4 instances. The staff of Site-016 have taken advantage of these properties to maintain on-site infrastructure, though the raw output of RPC-565 is insignificant compared to modern production. Reclassification of RPC-565 to a Utility-type object is currently pending.

RPC-565-B instances become agitated upon the sight of canids.⁴ Upon detecting a canid, RPC-565-B5 instances will be dispatched to eliminate the threat through either intimidation or direct combat.

RPC-565-A1 "King Wain" prior to containment.

All RPC-565-B's have an innate desire to follow the commands of four instances of their kind, designated RPC-565-A. This chain of the hierarchy consists of an adult male, a female, and two male and female juveniles. The aforementioned female RPC-565-A has been designated RPC-565-A4 for clarity. Unlike RPC-565-B instances, RPC-565-A are biologically immortal and have not aged since containment. Thus, it is unknown when they reach physical maturity. RPC-565-A1, self-designated as "King Wain," is the appointed leader of the RPC-565 collective. All RPC-565-B instances display unwavering loyalty to RPC-565-A and will become aggressive if they perceive an attempt to harm any RPC-565-As. RPC-565-A and RPC-565-B6 reside in a structure resembling a late medieval castle measuring 4x5x10m. The interior of the structure is decorated with a variety of rare fabrics and jewelry created by RPC-565-B4.

Discovery: Prior to containment, RPC-565 resided in the abode of American photographer Edward Anthony. Mr. Anthony used pictures of RPC-565-B instances in his 1922 children's book The Pussy Cat Princess. Sightings of "talking cats" living around Anthony's residence sparked an investigation by the Authority. Security personnel from the nearby Site-010 were called to determine the legitimacy of these sightings. They would later confirm and capture RPC-565, transferring them into Authority custody. The existence of talking cats was dismissed as a hoax in a cover story by an Authority front organization known as the Randall Pruter Foundation for Science and Reason.

While initially reluctant to communicate with Authority personnel, RPC-565-A1 was persuaded to cooperate by Doctor Selena Pfeiffer.

RPC-565-A1: What manner of name is that?

Doctor Pfieffer: RPC-565-A1 is the name we've assigned to you. What do you call yourself?

RPC-565-A1: I've been called worse. I am Wain, king of the Court of Ulthar. Why have you confined my people? Where is my family?

Doctor Pfieffer: You will be returned to your community after we're done with this interview.

RPC-565-A1: Very well. What is it you wish to know?

Doctor Pfieffer: How did you arrive in the household of Mr. Anthony?

RPC-565-A1: We've been in this land before your country even existed, Sir Anthony was only our latest host. We once lived lives of luxury; our every need was met. We lived in the court of King █████ of ███████, and we became quite the sight for his court and those who visited it. That's where I met my beloved wife.

Doctor Pfieffer: You mean to tell us that you are centuries old?

RPC-565-A1 begins purring and moves closer to Doctor Pfieffer.

RPC-565-A1: Only us royals, unfortunately. I've lost a good many entertainers and chefs to the sands of time.

Doctor Pfieffer: What caused you to leave ███████?

RPC-565-A1: Our time in paradise ended when a representative of the Church visited the court of my beloved king. You humans are strange around us cats. One century, you worship us like gods. The next, you think of us as friends to witches and other sinners. Despite us both being followers of the Lord, your representative demanded we be disposed of. We had no choice but to flee aboard one of the ships headed for the New World.

Doctor Pfieffer: How long have you lived in the Americas?

RPC-565-A1: About █00 of your years. We have seen better days, for sure.

Doctor Pfieffer: What did you and the rest of RPC-565 do before meeting Mr. Anthony?

RPC-565-A1: We avoided human interests where possible, hoping the Lord would guide us to safety. About █00 years later, we were captured by the Circus of ██████████. We were put in cages and separated from our young. We fled, but when we escaped one master, we always landed in the hands of another.

Doctor Pfieffer: What did you do at the circus?

RPC-565-A1: They made us perform indignant things unbefitting of creatures such as ourselves, making us simple tricks you would relegate to mere dogs.

Doctor Pfieffer: Would you elaborate on your dislike for dogs?

RPC-565-A1 audibly scoffs.

RPC-565-A1: I thought that would be obvious. Dogs are the very source of the word dogmatic. They do not ask questions or pose any challenges, they just do what they are asked, even if it leads to their own doom. And yet, we are apparently the lesser ones.

Doctor Pfieffer: You have yet to explain how you came to know Mr. Anthony.

RPC-565-A1: A few months ago, we escaped our final circus. We tried to remain hidden, however, we were discovered by dear Edward. Fortunately for us, his heart was composed of pure gold. He fed us and gave us a place to settle. In return, we would let him take pictures of us. These cameras, they're quite the technology, don't you think?

Doctor Pfieffer: Of course. That concludes our interview. You will be reunited with the rest of RPC-565 shortly.

RPC-565-A1: I have but one more question.

Doctor Pfieffer: Yes?

RPC-565-A1: Will we be safe? I have lead my people astray more times than I care to count.

Doctor Pfieffer: Your… people will be relocated to a sanctuary where no harm can be done to you, and you can do no harm to others.

RPC-565-A1's purring increases in frequency.

RPC-565-A1: Then we are but your humble servants.

Doctor Pfieffer: Your cooperation will be rewarded. Thank you for your time.

RPC-565-A1: And you for the protection you now provide. We are in your debt.

Closing Statement: RPC-565-A1 was returned to its community immediately after the interview. The entirety of RPC-565 was relocated to Site-016 over the following week.

+ Addendum no. 2: Level 2 Clearance Required

On 4/4/12, an unidentified instance of RPC-565-B2 clad in traditional Chinese garb appeared in RPC-565's containment unit. The instance vanished upon being spotted by Site-016 security staff. RPC-565-A1 expressed displeasure at the disappearance of the new instance. It was later discovered the People's Committee for the Acquisition of Anomalous Objects was in possession of another RPC-565 instance. The search for more RPC-565 instances is ongoing.
