RPC-346

Registered Phenomena Code: 346

Object Class: Alpha-Orange

Hazard Types:Additional Properties: h-ballistic.png Ballistic h-sentient.png Sentient h-mind-control.png Mind-Control

Additional Properties: Tychokinetic

Containment Protocols: RPC-346 is to be stored within an airtight containment locker within Site-073's Alpha-Containment wing. Testing has been indefinitely halted following [DATA EXPUNGED]. Requests for testing with RPC-346 are to be submitted to Site-073's Director.

Description: RPC-346 is a scroll of parchment carbon-dated to be between 800 to 1,400 years old. When unrolled, RPC-346 appears to be completely blank, with a notable cracked appearance and yellow pigmentation likely caused by cellulose oxidation and years of abandonment between known uses. It has been described to have a musky scent. RPC-346 has shown to have the same level of resistance to damage as non-anomalous parchment, although damage does not appear to have a negative effect on its anomalous properties.

When a human primate1 subject writes any kind of text within RPC-346 using writing utensils created after AD 12██, it will respond with text written in red ink. RPC-346 has shown low levels of sapience, introducing itself and asking basic questions about the subject. It has been shown to always ask the same series of questions with little levels of deviance.

Soon after RPC-346 begins communicating with the subject, it will attempt to usher them into signing a contract. The contract in question is described as an agreement between RPC-346 and the subject, in which the latter receives great fortune, for the "low cost of a few organs" being taken after their death. In 100% of cases, subjects will agree to enter the contract even if doing so contradicts their system of judgement. The subject will hereafter be designated as RPC-346-1. RPC-346 becomes inactive after it is signed, only "resetting" when its last signee has expired.

Within the next 7 days, RPC-346 seems to bend probability around RPC-346-1 in order for them to receive some form of wealth, followed shortly after by death. Wealth obtained is specific to whichever currency RPC-346-1 is most familiar with, meaning a signee from the United States would receive wealth in USD while a signee from Japan would receive wealth in Yen. Deaths attributed to RPC-346-1 have been noted to be consistently brutal or shocking in nature. Some examples of the aforementioned causes of death can be seen below:

  • Dismemberment
  • Evisceration of the lower intestine
  • Spontaneous combustion
  • Decapitation
  • Consumption by bear
  • Drowned in sewage
  • Health complications brought on by bubonic plague
  • Radiation poisoning

Approximately 90 minutes to 3 hours after the death of RPC-346-1, the secondary effect of RPC-346 will occur, in which all of RPC-346-1's bodily structures will be violently separated and fly due east at speeds which have been recorded to be as high as 300 knots. Where the viscera goes at this point is not currently known. The only matter remaining of subjects found so far has been the coccyx, the appendix, and trace amounts of muscle fibers. Investigation into the exclusion of these structures is ongoing.
