Registered Phenomena Code: 154

Object Class: Beta-Red

Hazard Types: Organic Hazard, Corrosive Hazard, Sensory Hazard

Containment Protocols: RPC-154 is to be contained in a 2m3 chamber crafted from standard building concrete with a thickness of 2m at the easternmost point of Site-███. The entrance is to be created on the eastern wall of the containment chamber. RPC-154 is to be relocated bi-weekly to a 2m3 secondary chamber identical to the primary chamber whilst it undergoes repair. After RPC-154 has been returned to its original containment chamber, the aforementioned secondary containment chamber is to undergo repairs.

RPC-154-1-██, currently █████ █████████, is to be kept in a 5m3 chamber at the westernmost point of Site-███. RPC-154-1-██ is to be given standard living conditions equivalent to that of CSD personnel.

Description: RPC-154 resembles a common earthworm, Lumbricus Terrestris. RPC-154 will constantly move towards a randomly designated human target, hereon referred to as RPC-154-1. Regardless of the position of RPC-154-1, RPC-154 will move in a straight line towards RPC-154-1 at an average speed of 15 meters per hour, ignoring obstacles and other hazards blocking its way. If RPC-154-1 changes position, RPC-154 will adjust its angle accordingly to re-create a straight line between it and RPC-154-1.

If an object blocks the path of RPC-154, it will begin to secrete an acidic substance from its head in order to slowly dissolve the object in its path. The speed of which this substance is able to dissolve most materials is 0.5cm3 per hour. Authority personnel has yet to find any material that RPC-154 is unable to dissolve through with its acid, including many common acid-resistant materials, and has since been unable to artificially create a material that is resistant to RPC-154's acid, which leads Authority personnel to believe the acid is also anomalous in nature.1

In spite of its speed, RPC-154 has caught previous RPC-154-1 instances due to a gradual gain in distance until eventual contact. Additionally, RPC-154 appears invisible and intangible to RPC-154-1 instances. Upon RPC-154 coming into contact with RPC-154-1, RPC-154 will begin to enter RPC-154-1 through its [DATA EXPUNGED] and will begin to consume the nonvital organs of RPC-154-1, such as the appendix, spleen, reproductive organs, or one kidney if RPC-154-1 still has two. This process has been described as painless by previous RPC-154-1 instances.2

While RPC-154 is within RPC-154-1, it will continuously secrete its acidic material at a significantly increased rate, with its average being enough to dissolve 23% of RPC-154-1's total organ mass per day. The process of consumption persists for a time period between 3 and 7 days. Attempts to remove RPC-154 before the completion of the initial consumption process have proven ineffective due to increased secretion of RPC-154's acidic substance dissolving any protective gear or extraction tools before they are successfully able to remove RPC-154 from RPC-154-1. Attempts to incinerate, detonate, or [DATA EXPUNGED] the body of RPC-154-1 during this process have resulted in RPC-154 escaping unscathed. This leads Authority personnel to believe RPC-154 has great physical resistances.

After all nonvital organs have been dissolved, RPC-154 will wait for RPC-154-1 to fall into REM sleep, then will begin to rapidly dissolve the remaining internal organs of RPC-154-1. This process is always finished before RPC-154-1 wakes up due to the more rapid acid secretion of RPC-154. Forceful awakening of RPC-154-1 during this process has been attempted, but has never been successful.

When all internal organs of RPC-154-1 are dissolved, RPC-154 will expel up to a recorded ██ liters of its acidic substance, dissolving large portions of the remaining body of RPC-154-1. The entire consumption process does not appear to be required for the survival of RPC-154, nor does it appear to affect RPC-154 in any way. After the full consumption of RPC-154-1, a deceased larvae-like entity is found within its remains. Authority researchers theorize this is a failed attempt to procreate by RPC-154, resulting in its death, along with the birth of a new RPC-154 instance. RPC-154 will then determine a new target as RPC-154-1 begin pursuit once again.
