Entity No. 1571 is confined within the Gate of the Forgotten Saint under the supervision of the Subjugation Office at East London Station. Its holding cell1 has adapted to resist the entity’s memetic nature. The chamber no longer attempts to simulate a physical plane, and instead has allowed the surrounding environment to slowly lose coherence and metamorphose into a dreamlike atmosphere.2 Over time, the chamber has ceased to exist as a physical space at all. It is now a manifestation shaped by SE1571 itself, appearing as an autumn forest drowned in endless silver mist.
SE1571 is a cognitohazard. All qualitative information of the entity is to be expunged upon discovery. Even objective and empirical data concerning SE1571 are subject to rigorous scrutiny. The most reliable defence against its influence is the complete denial of its existence. Any information about SE1571, whether concerning its origins or its nature, may only be disclosed through metaphor and allegory.
All attempted termination protocols have failed. The entity is effectively indestructible and exhibits complete resistance to every form of thaumaturgic weaponry tested to date. No research or communication is to be conducted with the entity.
Synopsis
A mutated humanoid cadaver, perpetually suspended by a noose of indeterminate and seemingly infinite length. The entity remains unmoving, yet is capable of teleporting to any location and manifesting simultaneously before multiple observers. Although a physical body is present, its form is inherently unstable. It transitions into an incorporeal spectral body upon any contact with a human subject.
SE1571 is a Bacchanal3 that emerged from the fusion of the former artefact MO1567 with the corpse of former Codicesia member ██████ ██████. The entity lacks a skull; in its place, a colossal ████ ████ with ███ pairs of wings is integrated into its anatomy. Each wing contains Greek script accompanied by diagrams of ████████████ formulae, ██████ ████████, and detailed illustrations of █████ based around the Nihil rites.
As with most contained high-grade Bacchanals, SE1571 does not metabolize material food. Instead, the entity is theorized to subsist primarily on human cognition and sobriety. Individuals exposed to the full diameter of the entity’s aura of influence will exhibit alcoholic intoxication and disorientation. If exposure is prolonged, it may even result in permanent neurological damage.
SE1571’s true appearance is a severe cognitohazard, and direct visual exposure causes the subject to come under its influence. Any information that depicts SE1571 or the contents of its wings may transform into a spiritual larva designated SE1571-01, with material related to the Nihil rites being especially susceptible. The information must be sufficiently detailed for the transformation to occur, and this mechanism constitutes the primary manifestation of SE1571’s curse.
SE1571-01 is a conceptual entity4 that manifests as a worm-like form and consumes human cognition to sustain growth and metabolic activity. Although fully invisible and non-corporeal, it may manifest in the physical environment as a cloud of fog. Inhalation of this fog results in cognitive dulling, rendering reality dreamlike and distant. Subjects exposed for extended periods typically lapse into dissociative wandering until SE1571 has fully consumed their minds. Only Dr. Aesopica and ██████ ██████ are seemingly immune to this effect.
Humans within a 6 km radius experience recurrent dreams of an endless autumn plain suffused with fog. Affected individuals display an increased compulsion toward alcohol, and while intoxicated, become markedly more vulnerable to SE1571’s influence.
