I liked the utilization of machinery specifically revolving around a singular RPC/SCP with the added bonus of getting me interested in another RPC.
Also, the fact that you explained this all through scientific terms without once (I think) using the word anomalous or "by unknown means" which is a success in itself. Normally, if this were other authors, technical jargon can get wonky and more importantly, it can increase the scope of your article's definitions simply because even one change to normative processes explained in biology leads to cascading explanations you would need to resolve.
Yours is succinct enough that as a layman, I feel I can grasp it without it becoming too bogged down in feature creep.
Protocol 760-A "Severance"
Big fan of creating procedures that actually make sense and are catered specifically to the entity.
While the entity itself doesn't really evoke anything new for me, I absolutely love the time and effort it took to detailing the chemical composition to internal cell processes.
+5 all the way.
