Frankly, it comes off as an excuse to slap everyone in the face with how LGBT everyone is, taking precedence over everything else. (For the record, I don't have a problem with GSM characters, but when they're present more than is statistically realistic, it gets both glaring and irritating. They're portrayed as paragons of humanity rather than just people.) It's like how, in math textbooks, about 3 out of 5 names are obviously foreign. Again, their presence isn't a problem, the prevalence, however, is pretty glaring. By no means do I intend to denigrate the achievements of womenanminorities, either, I simply believe they should be presented in context rather than as the context.
Weird fiction, as well, I don't have a problem with. The problem is that it's taken to mean "I can shove as much identity politics in this as possible. The anomalies are an afterthought." You can see this in entries like the trans satellite, as well as shit like celebrating the October Revolution and contest entries which boil down to AMERICA SUXXXXX!!!!! While political themes can be portrayed well, I think banning politics here is the right call. Reason being, I could just as easily see right-wing circlejerks and cringeworthy content forming.
