That could have been worded better, in my opinion. How about:

I think this is the main oversight. There is no reason for the authority to keep D-85347 alive. The Authority wouldn't waste money on keeping somebody alive who, more often than not, will die later.
Overall, however, I quite enjoyed it, even with some poorly-written phrases.
