It's not often I stumble upon region-annihilating anomalies so it's always a pleasure finding a good one, too. The conprocs foreshadowed exactly the weight of havoc I was longing for, and the Operation Green Storm message was a plausibly disturbing measure the Authority would do. I love me some good old necessary evil confic.
That said, the article suffers a few issues, most glaringly is the cause behind the anomaly being that out of radiation, as any destabilization explanation would have suggested far more intriguing possibilities for this concept than, let's face it, lazy reasoning. My guess is this is another writer's homage to the Chernobyl disaster, but nothing here suggests a radioactive cause to the creepy altered hellscape aside from what we're told, so it doesn't give much for the reader to speculate and expand their wonder on some line of logic. Instead it serves to sink my suspension of disbelief.
Another issue is how lacking in content the exploration is, it's basically toned down to a list of notes rather than an angle on the anomaly to elaborate and feed our curiosity. Which is a shame given what little is mentioned already begs me to know so much more.
Aside from that, I was left creeped out far before the video excerpt, can't say I have not enjoyed myself.
