This article must answer many questions that it does not in such a fashion that it harms the quality of the article. When writing articles, using clinical tone should set you up to exhaustively explain and answer questions that allow you opportunities to write interesting facts that add intrigue to your article.
Moreover, dropping the clause about it being Sonic at the very first sentence is a missed opportunity to develop the mystique of the article and its anomaly before dropping the fact that it's meant to be Sonic as a surprise. Instead it's at the front and the article risks being instantly stereotyped at the first sentence.
Most important questions:
- How does this AI inhabit the Blender scene? What does it mean for that to be the case?
- What happens if you power off the device?
- What is the file structure of the AI's code?
- What is the architecture of the AI?
- Do the specifications of the host computer allow the AI to be developed?
- In which part of the Blender app does RPC-XXX inhabit?
- Is it not necessary for the Blender process to have been running for years?
- What are the exact limitations of its environment?
- How does the RPC respond to attempts to screw with it?
- What happens if you try to render or bake the scene?
I suspect you may not know exactly how to answer some of these questions and that's fine.
To show what I mean by moving the Sonic reveal to a later point, as well as to answer some of these questions for you, here's what I would write (feel free to take this or completely ignore it; it's your article. You must answer the first 7 questions though, imo):

It is not possible to power off the device containing RPC-XXX by any means. How the host device containing RPC-XXX is capable of maintaining consistent, indefinite battery life is, at this time, unknown. Permanent deletion of the file containing RPC-XXX has proven unsuccessful, as the host device inexplicably and invariably interdicts any and all user-initiated file deletion tasks. Remarkably, RPC-XXX specifically inhabits the Layout window of the Blender application. It does not inhabit a rendered artifact nor a process on the Blender Game Engine. For this reason, it is directly possible to transform RPC-XXX's character model and manipulate its topology, although attempts to do this have resulted in [DATA EXPUNGED]. RPC-XXX is capable of interacting with any additional non-anomalous objects in the Blender scene, and is capable of direct communication through production of synthesized speech channeled into the audio device. Behaviorally, RPC-XXX displays an upbeat, enthusiastic, and confident personality consistent with its authors intention to fully replicate the likeness and identity of SEGA character Sonic The Hedgehog.
The character model utilized by RPC-XXX bears no resemblance to any previously documented design within the Sonic® franchise and is presumed to have been created independently. Nonetheless, RPC-XXX is under the belief that it is in fact the SEGA character.

In this way, setting up the reader to realize it is Sonic after being given a chance to understand its periphery description/anomaly drives intrigue rather than wasting it at the start and coming across, in my opinion, as an amateurish attempt to write one's favorite character into the RPC canon. I know, that's not you. You write well, I'm saying it risks heavily coming across that way especially with how you worded it at the start. For the record, you say that the character model looks nothing like Sonic, but you also have Sonic as the picture in the article. I'm assuming you're going with the first and I think you should because I feel that including a picture of Sonic in the article again comes across in the character-insert-vibe that I described earlier.
Here are some other interesting bits I think would be fun to include or expand upon, feel free to use all or none (though some may contradict):

One major caveat is that RPC-XXX's intellectual capabilities are limited in a manner consistent with that of the character it imitates. RPC-XXX has passed the Turing test.
As of 6/11/2026, RPC-XXX has been recorded as asking for its environment to change 423 times. RPC-XXX has been recorded as asking for the whereabouts of Ms. Lenore 1012 times.

RPC-XXX has claimed that it requires Ms. Lenore to stay "whole." The meaning and significance of this phrase has not been determined, as the RPC-XXX process and all of its peripheral libraries and assets have remained unchanged since its original launch date.
I hate to say it, but the Lenore logs read as cliched. This isn't an easy thing to do since "diary that gets progressively more unhinged" is hard to pull off since it's a very common trope. Since you're great at dialogue I think it would serve you well to turned these into a series of text messages with a concerned friend of Lenore's. That gives you a lot more freedom I think.

Overall, This article needs a fair bit of development before it's ready to post. It is also not easy to pull off this kind of premise for the reasons I mentioned earlier. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make of it.
