I posted this hours ago, but I figured I could do a discuss page write-up for this. Here goes…

Hello there! This is my first custom theme, and I plan to make at least a few more in the future. Sinaticus says there's a Malthus revival in the works, so I hope people will like this and use it in their articles when that happens. And now, a few people who were instrumental in the creation of this theme:

• Logangreenjeans's old design was used as a loose inspiration. Sorry man, but Malthus is all about survival of the fittest.

• Vizlox pushed me into doing this in the first place, and gave active feedback after I created the first working version, suggesting a lot of changes to make the final version more distinct. Vizlox also wrote the code that turns the stars red for the Sub Vesuvia theme, which I borrowed directly.

• 8ismo helped arrange the final color palette, purportedly influenced by Ascriber's Malthus art. (By the way, whoever is reading this, check out Ascriber's Fail-Safe/Malthus tale Beasts in the Belly of the Beast, which is long but great and worth your time.)

• Sinaticus approved the theme after it was completed and gave me permission to put it on the hub. He said this theme was "unironically what [he] envisioned from the start", which makes me pretty happy.
