This was my first read of a confic article in a long time and man, is it a strong one.
Personally the innate idea of anthrophomorphic animals already scares me, similarly to how the uncanny valley scares people with things that look human but just… aren't.
But to amplify that with body horror, to concentrate it with a flawed transformation into a monstrous yet somehow still human form that the victim considers "beautiful", it just fucks me up.
I saw the scrapped art on the Discord server and it looks like the Quagmire toilet gif I gotta be honest man while the art piece shows the first-hand horror of the transformation, the boils shown in the image of the final article is enough to show how fucked these victims are while leaving our imaginations to grow with the waters of the text to help.
Its not without flaw. I find some parts of the interview to be a bit immersion breaking, it seemed like it was written by an author writing a grizzled detective's monologue rather than an actual interview segment.
There are so many other things I'd like to talk about here. The series 1-esque vagueness of exactly what the hell came out of the mass of flesh and winked at the senior operative. The dangerous yet still cold corporate nature of K.K. utilizing this anomaly for pornsite revenue and probably the creation of a new product with, again, whatever thing came out of the meatpile.
But all in all, this is some good shit man.
Also I like to think midnight_shadow was among the pile idk the idea seemed funny.
