An active gaslighting campaign against the existence of RPC-X, in which it is framed as a conspiracy theory based on a cancelled alternate reality game, is to be maintained throughout the internet as a secondary safeguard against the anomaly.
Time and again I’ve tried and failed to clinically state that a coverup is being employed, and you two do it here flawlessly. Bitchin’. I just disagree with the usage of ‘gaslighting.’ Is that clinical? Why no ‘disinformation’?

Awareness of RPC-906's status as anomalous or self-doubt regarding the possibility of travel to the Antarctic is often sufficient to temporarily dispel its effects, although relapse is fairly common.
This mental ‘ear worm’ gives me ever so slight Control vibes. Loving it.
but it has made the process of locating infected groups significantly less difficult.
Suggestion: ‘increased the efficiency of locating infected groups.’
‘Significantly less difficult’ sounds almost conversational. I know, I’m weird and nitpicky.
The first image is interesting and the angel is cute.
there were very few mentions of RPC-906 throughout the Authority archives.
Disagree with ‘very few’
The group sent out an abundance of letters to people in the town of, ████ ████, South Carolina
Though I understand RPC has different redaction standards, I don’t think I’ll ever find myself agreeing with them…
Just an extremely minor nitpick from me. Ignore this.
they discovered several cognitohazardous pictograms displaying winged humanoids, which upon viewing would cause the viewer to vomit blood and ████████████ █████.
Pog moment.
None of the people present could make sense of what was being displayed,
Disagree with ‘make sense’. Perhaps ‘understand’ or ‘decipher’ or ‘comprehend’?
Nitpick, but I question the specific long ass redaction in the second picture where h3l1b0und (what an obnoxious username…) stated that an angel told them to go to the south.
I’m struggling to think of long enough words that are synonyms with the word ‘come’ or ‘go’. It’s also clearly one word there, because it’s one single long redaction.
Idk it doesn’t break the article but I’m nitpicky as fuck.
Significant examples have been collected here.
‘Significant’ is used twice in two paragraphs and it makes it a tiny bit repetitive. Would suggest a different word/wording here for variance.
Later investigation of the initial outbreak revealed its root
Suggestion: ‘revealed its origins’

This is a redaction I agree with. Considering how poorly written that spam mail is (purposefully to simulate irl spam mail, I know. It’s good shit.), one would have to fall for it via either sheer idiocy or a compulsion effect, the latter of which has already been established. Redacting access to the sensitive info here protects Personnel that lack the proper willpower/training to resist the compulsion effect.
…I’ll stop mentioning redactions now.
or simply the written delusions of a mentally ill individual.
I relate.
For the purposes of containment, the Authority encouraged the development of these hypotheses to prevent the pursuit of more accurate descriptions of the phenomenon, as well as dissuade internet users from engaging with the anomaly and thus falling victim to its effects.
That’s…really fucking clever.
These attempts resulted in failure: due to what is now understood to be a form of the Streisand effect, the phenomenon would only increase in popularity toward the end of the century.
Welp.
interest int he occult.
Typo there in caption for the goth picture.
I’ve lost count on how many pictures in I am, btw…
The file was promptly taken down the site administrator apprehended, however he was deemed to be uninvolved with the anomalous and was returned to society.
Grammar good here. Comma after ‘down’
Despite the presence of "The Companion"
Comma after ‘companion’
misiniformation regarding RPC-X in 2003

You created a forum browsing character named Mishima? Is that a fuckmothering Persona 5 reference?????
I admit at this point, the length of the piece is tiring me out a little, so I’m gonna be going into ‘once over mode’ and just point out significant grammar issues or typos…of which this piece has very few 👏
I like the way the story is ramping up, though, even though this is admittedly a slow burn.
I can still see that brightness when I close my eyes, shaped like a ring around the head.
I love this horror twist on angel haloes…creepy.
Final thoughts:
So if I get this straight…
The Authority has spent years trying to prevent people from going to the Antarctic to get turned into ‘angels’ (or whatever they actually are), only for a rogue Authority group to defect and go unnoticed, and to help propagate the spread of this shit while the actual Authority fails to prevent its spread.
Looking at that causes you to turn into one of them…
Yeah. Good shit.
Now, to answer your Q and A as best I can:
Q: What can be cut?
A: Hm…that’s a damn good question. While it started to drag a little halfway through—either due to my potentially undiagnosed ADD, or this new medication that’s been fucking with my attention span, or whether the article actually drags, I sadly can’t say.—, I’m not really sure what can be cut.
I want to say probably the IRC chat logs. From what I recall, they just discuss lists of names and then one person gets infected and tries to save one of their chat room buddies…then again, with fridge horror logic, I realize that Tifafucker22 (beautiful name btw) killing himself to prevent his angele-fication is a pretty good OH SHIT factor post-read.
Damn. This one is hard to answer. I don’t think I can give a good answer here. Sorry.
Q: Bogard's video log is a hard cut from the aesthetic of the first half of the article. This is intentional, but does it work or is it just boring?
A: knowing that the ‘angels’ are more Lovecraftian than angelic was a pretty good oh shit factor. I personally didn’t mind the jump.
Q: Do you feel the ending works, or should it be cut entirely?
A: please keep the ending. The realization that this shit is still going on, the ‘angels’ have taken ‘flight’ (with tentacle wings, who knows what the fuck that means?), and the fact that more people can keep signing up is…horrifying.
All in all, good shit. 4/5. Easy 5/5 is if it gets trimmed a little. Again, I’m sorry I’m not more precise on where it can be trimmed…it starts to drag halfway through but all the info is pretty imperative to know and adds to the entire experience as a whole.
