Anomaly: A glass elevator located in a hotel. When someone in need of help or with depression tries to use it, it takes them downwards, regardless of what floor they’re currently on. Upon reaching a bottom in pitch darkness, if they try to use the elevator again, it takes them to a grassy field, moving sideways along a train track.
Here, a female humanoid elevator attendant will greet the passenger.
The ‘elevator’ train ride has a soothing, mentally healing effect on the passenger. At the end of the ride, it takes them where they need to go (within the confines of the hotel) and leaves them feeling refreshed.
Every once in a while, during the ride, scenes pertaining to the passenger will be played out in the field. E.G., a suicidal person will see themselves killing themselves in the field. Or a person whose dad dies of cancer will see their dad in a hospital bed in the field.
Story: An Authority agent investigates the Elevator. They meet, and the entity remarks that sometimes she’ll meet people she’s already helped, but they have no recollection of the encounter. She asks if the agent was the one doing so.
The agent states he’s not at liberty to disclose this.
The entity requests that the Agent erases a particular person’s memory and hands them a video tape.
The video tape contains multiple video files.
In order:
1.) A little boy enters the elevator. He’s crying. The field shows his parents fighting. The entity comforts him and sends him back home to parents who were worried sick about him.
2.) A slightly older boy comes back and asks for help on homework. The entity states she sucks at algebra and can only help with advanced physics. (This part is meant purely for wholesome humor…if it’s too slice of life, let me know.)
3.) Some more video tapes of boy slowly growing older.
4.) Adult man comes in, stating his dad has severe cancer. The field shows a man in a hospital bed on a IV drip. Father’s fate is never clearly stated.
5.) Man comes dressed in all black, just seeking the entity’s company. She asks him what he wants. Shows a scene where the man and entity are holding hands and walking down the field together. The entity tells him he needs to leave.
The article then ends with the Authority agent refusing to amnesticize the man.
I have concerns with how sappy this will end up being.
The entity is female and immortal, yes. MC is human and falls in love with her only to get friendzoned.
I want to know how to make this entire thing work, really.
