This idea initially came from academic work on my college thesis about the Medievel Papacy. I had also been interested in writing an RPC article featuring the AEP Association. Since this time period currently isn't featured very prominently in the site canon, I went ahead and developed some new lore for this era. It might be shocking to some to know that most of this article is actually true. My research was primary drawn from the book Vicars of Christ: A History of the Popes.

Hands down one of the best articles in the site, as well as the very best when it comes to Christianity. One can clearly see the research that went behind this piece as well as the effort put into its making.

The "Liber Episcopalis" segment was a blast to read, and the ending was very fucking powerful.

In my opinion, this should be the article to win the 009 spot (even if it means bringing AEP back from the death).

As much as I find church history boring by this point, I can't help but acknowledge the organization and quality of the writing here. Regardless, I want more lich less catholic history the article. My mixed feelings leave me at a no vote.

In my attempts to properly describe my love for this article, I cannot muster a word that can possibly encompass it. Easiest vote of my life.

BUT.

Important religious message.

AEP-897: I was but a mortal man, tainted by that original sinner of our father Adam, when I was chosen by the Holy Spirit to lead the universal church, the bride of Christ. Every moment I lived, I defended St. Peter's throne from those that sought to subjugate it.

Original sin of our father Adam. Unless it's intentional, but "sin" might fit better than "sinner".
