We would like to address the concerns over Wikidot's slow decay. Lately, we've seen the platform teeter, with slowed loading times, issues with saving pages correctly, and most recently, the entire tags system becoming nonfunctional for two days. It's becoming increasingly clear that Wikidot is not long for this Earth. You may already know that Vizlox has been developing a replacement site for Wikidot for some time, but development has not been active because there was not a dire need until now. He is going to begin working on this actively now that it is needed, and has put together an FAQ page to help answer questions. If you have more questions about the project after reading that page, please join the new development server and ask him there.
Thanks to minutemen does not match any existing user name, we now have a backup of every single page on the Wikidot site and sandbox, including page texts and all uploaded files. If you would like a copy of files for your own articles, let Vizlox know and he will send you a ZIP folder containing backups of requested works. Dexo will continue making backups regularly in case Wikidot shuts down without warning.
It is highly recommended that you work on drafts in a text file or Google doc rather than the sandbox. You should copy paste your Google doc into an actual sandbox page to test the formatting and judge how the page will look, but do not assume the sandbox is 100% reliable for safely saving your work.
In order to focus his attention on the Mediawiki project, Vizlox is not getting a summer job! (Very based). We are going to compensate him for his work and pay him fairly. This will be a costly endeavor. If you are interested in donating to fund our escape from Wikidot, please donate via the RPC Paypal moc.liamg|ytirohtuacpreht#moc.liamg|ytirohtuacpreht. Additionally, the proceeds from the RPC patches will go towards the Mediawiki expenses as well.
If you choose to contribute, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
