Well shit, I guess I'm too late now.
Personally there is a lot of missed opportunities here, for a Site that arguably has an equal significance strategically as Site-002 little to no lessons were taken from its peer's rich history, which could have been even more applicable in the backdrop of the Middle East. If thoughts were given to it more a much more interesting history could have been written up for a Site as important as the "Logistical Lifeline of Authority" that is Site-004.
1) The first and foremost thing would be the fact that Site-004 predates the current claimed creation date and has at least existed prior to 1976 and possibly 1967.
2) The fact that the oil industry could have been exploited even earlier then the claimed date of creation, specifically post-WW1 Middle East, which saw the Authority at an economic height with their front-based industry. A "pre-history" that links to the Ottoman Empire could have also been made.
Alternatively,
3) Authority could have exploited Iran's occupation in WW2 to invest on the oil industry.
4) GD-Eura has had oil deal with local governments since 1960s and this could have very well taken place then.
5) The upheavals in Cold War was ignored, and more importantly, the Islamic tensions in the region was ignore, either Saudi or Iranian(even if you hadn't place it there) Anti-Authority sentiment could have played an interesting adversary.
6) Which also leads into the little significance in highlighting Site-004 and Euracom by extension as a logistical hub sitting in between 4 adjacent command, a reasoning for placing it in Euracom by Pierson with its anomalies from all over the world, though the Oil angle is pretty good ngl.
7) Increased Malthus attacks and local insurgencies that led to a new policy of anti-anomalous insurgencies by the 2000s. This partly discussed but was very vague and non-specific
Not all of these needs to be explored in detail, but I would like that this page at least attempts to address it to add to its own history instead of taking a rather generic approach of "Site build in the 90s because X". We are very lacking in any sort of Authority presence before WW2, it absolutely doesn't take away anything for Site-004 to fullfill that role in canon.
Lacks content, picture is broken on mobile, overall kind of βmehβ
Such is life in the Soviet Union
uuooooooh, i was gonna make a site-004 myself (it was going to be in Laos) but you stole the slot from me!!!!!!! π π π π π
But in all seriousness, though, I'm glad that someone got around to making this. Good job.
Thanks, and sorry.
Maybe your draft can be another site?
I'm not sure we need another site when our current sites are unfilled.
