2nd article on this wiki, hope y'all like it!
It's what the new generation's like these days - all bark, no whistle.
What a great line!
Such is life in the Soviet Union
This article was okay, until the interview. That shit is so damn funny, it's the real meat of the article and it's what makes it excel in my opinion.
Throughout the latter half of the interview the character of RPC-447-1 kinda fell off a little but that's alright.
What I have issue with is the disappearance of Proxima Centauri A and D. I have a feeling that may conflict with already existing articles.
I am in a limbo state where I can't decide if it's a 4 or a 5, but I'll go with 5 because this made me laugh pretty good.
This is an article I've liked for a while. The phenomenon is amusingly torturous, and the interview log is where it gets even better. It seems like people named Tony just tend to have some real crazy shit going on. Plus, the image is killer.
It has notable issues, though. The clinical presentation is pretty lackluster; the description at times feels like a list of qualitative traits rather than a flowing introduction. Punctuation gets loose in the dialogue, arguably beyond the bounds of reason. The last two collapsibles are capitalized differently from each other, which, while minor, also exhibits sloppiness.
There's one piece of the description that particularly confuses me:
If a non-RPC-447-1 player breaks any of the rules, they will be "lost".
Attempts at apprehending instances of RPC-447-1 or stopping a "PUTT" event have resulted in the "loss" of all individuals who participated in the attempt.
"Loss"? What? This is never explained, to my knowledge. After a few re-reads of the first snippet, I assumed (given the context) that "they" refers to in-game points, but the second one still has me stumped. Why is it covered in a euphemism? Is it related to how the wagers are lost (it uses similar terminology)? I don't understand.
The discovery segment only exists for a cheap EOI tie-in. Props for trying to worldbuild, I suppose, but the only thing lamer to me than a random EOI mention just for novelty is a mention of an unestablished EOI to give it some ultimately worthless cred.
To close off my observations, the Containment Protocols are shockingly brief and uneventful for an anomaly where the way it's contained is half the fun. The opportunity to write an actually enjoyable ConProts segment should've been one to bask in, haha.
All that being said, pretty fun piece. Keeping my 4/5
