I think I've already read this one before, but it didn't stick out in my mind very well so I chose to cover it again for my Malthus marathon. Before the discovery log, this concept is kind of interesting, but still long-winded and a little boring. I had to push myself to keep reading. The discovery log is a little more concise but still tests my patience by repeating things I already know, like explaining the packets to me for what is approximately the third time.
I've already reviewed RPC-660 and made this stance clear, but I do NOT like funnyMalthus (which is what I'm going to call them from now on). This is like, the shitty kids show spin-off version of Malthus. I can't say this is even close to the worst comedy I've read on the site, but it does not feel right coming from this group. Why must the EUGENICIST TERRORISTS be made into "the quirky ones"!?
2/5. I think the premise for the anomaly is neat, but the long-winded delivery, abhorrent choice of "silliness", and high rating don't make me feel guilty about my decision. I earnestly hope that I don't run into funnyMalthus again.
(25 minutes of hindsight edit: this was kind of a mean review. I still don't like this interpretation of Malthus but maybe I'll need to edit this to be more clear at some point in the future)
