Posting the critique thread on behalf of the author.

While the article isn't especially outstanding in terms of concept or execution, certain aspects fascinate me; the mention of the anomalous room, kidnapping and weird properties of the building, coupled by the very apparent unwillingness of the Authority to even begin to describe what the room even is and what happened in it create an incredible sense of foreboding that I adore in all kinds of writing. I wish I could pull it off this well.

Very well written article with excellent use of negative space. On one hand I feel like the mystery of the room could be improved with the addition of some more references to it (perhaps cluing to something about it), but on the other the article achieves a very delicate balance that is best off unbroken.

Visually interesting, otherwise undeveloped

I've read it and I must say that I can't particularly praise it.

The imagery of the mascots is interesting but aside from that there is not much to it
The doctor doesn't talk like a real person but an approximation of someone in that situation, the meat room seems like just a very significant thing that is simply glossed over and there for no particular reason and there's some unnecessary censoring that doesn't really give us enough details around it to make it interesting.
Talking primarily about the smell the nose mannequin does, as well as forbidding animals and kids within the museum. I get it that they get killed (I think) but what else is there to it? Why the special treatment?

All in all it feels like a draft that needs more development and interconnectivity between its contents.

apart from some odd choices in wording and clinical tone like that sternutation bit and 508/508-1 basically being the same thing, the dialogue in the interview not doing a lot for me, and the fact that this doesn't do much with its concept, i actually like this one a lot. i might have a bias because of how often i'd go visit museums as a kid, but this article has a surreal feeling to it which i always enjoy, and an atmosphere of this sort of… negative nostalgia. this article feels like a nightmare i would've had after having a bad experience on a school excursion. moreover, the lack of much explanation combined with odd details here and there (especially that weird flesh room) give this piece an almost otherworldly tone. there's something not quite right about it all that i can't put my finger on. despite the obvious issues, i can look past them and give this a +4.
