Explanation/Commentary

This one is pretty straight forward I hope. The superstition is a black cat crossing your path.

The typos in Jeffrey's comms are intentional.

I have no idea what’s going on with the numbers in the footnotes.

I put the comm log first and detached it instead of as an addendum, because it sets up the answers given in the article instead of giving those to the reader up front. I like the article getting to be very short and filling in the details.

We aren't supposed to know what happens to ol' Jeff. However, the comm system requires two entangled particles to work, so from the final that says "entanglement no longer found", we can take that to mean the particle of matter in the entanglement — and we guess everything else alongside it — has been destroyed somehow.

I'll say that cats love to toy with much smaller things and it doesn't even have to be prey for them to do it… if it moves and it can see it, cats just want to make it stop moving for good and for no good reason.

Upvoted. This really scratched my 17776 itch.

It seemed like there were some unintentional typos and a missing period in some of the first logs though. I feel like the rest of the typos throughout were intentionally however.
