This has been sitting in my drafts for aeons and I've finally gotten around to fleshing it out and finishing it. First person is a weird narrative format but it's fun and i think the Weirdness of it makes it an effective storytelling tool, especially for "a global director hiding amongst the Remnants has a literal god offer them [Humanity, the remnants, the global director themselves] aid in this dark time for humanity".
I've always seen the Remnants timeline as a dark world with a lot brighter of a future ahead of it than baseline or RCPA, in that it's forcing a re-synthesis of anomaly and the mundane, like a rewilding of the world, but one that needs cooperation from everyone involved to keep sustainable. Part of that ends up showing up in The Beast When There Are No Nations, and I guess this continues that trend a little more.
