Because at the end, the Authority is just a glorified anthill. A curiously foolish anthill located in a landfill of landmines.

The article got really weak toward the end. It dragged on and got repetitive, with the last half of the last log being pretty cliche. The whole log had wonky pacing. It's clear that the end didn't have as much work or crit put in by the increased amount of formatting and grammar errors. I fixed all of them though.

Another thing: I think it'd be cool if the instances of the teams talking about the other Authority personnel devising containment methods and such actually mentioned the ProLab and Component in accordance to their roles as described on the Containment hub.

I'm going to 3 star this for now. Will 4 star if the ending gets improved significantly. I don't think this article did enough for me to give it a 5, but it did have a lot of good moments. I don't know where I remember it from but I remember a real version of 194-1 being about nuclear waste, which was a nice touch to adapt that for this. Also, I had noticed early on that there wasn't any dilation within communication, which made it pretty neat when that was brought up later on. I just wish that had some more significance to the ending. It could have been really great if there was some actual explanation for that in regards to the people who were working in the facility long ago.

Amazing, long ass read but worth it all the way through
Dialogue was smooth and most of the times it felt natural, the discoveries were a slow and sometimes really slow paste but still had you guessing, and the ending had one of the best scenery, especially the dialogue which took its time to slowly get where it needed to be, incredible article, amazing characters, nice job.

This is the kind of stuff I read RPC for! Exploration logs are the best.

I found this article to be less impactful then I expected. A couple of things were mentioned/implied in this article that I hoped would get expanded upon but never did. For instance when this line came up.

Dashing: So it seems to have no temporal effects on us when we're actively communicating.

It implied that the anomaly was sentient in some form and I was disappointed to find out it wasn't. Another example is when the MST team read this:

McLoughlin: I read something about having to appease a god for safe passage here.

Yet this "god" is never seen again in the article. Plus if whoever made the facility didn't want anybody to find it, why wouldn't have they made a lot more of an effort to cover it up considering their technology was far superior to the Authority. It just felt like a lazy way out in order to make the story continue. On the good side though, I always like reading anomalous spaces and exploration logs and the ending definitely demonstrated the dangers of venturing into the unknown. 3 stars.
