This tale established a POI that I've been conceptualizing for awhile. More about him will be explained in future works, but for now I feel it is necessary to say some back story. He is a former member of the Kin who broke free of the influence of RPC-625, though not entirely, still retaining things such as a belief in Cetace. However, he now hates Cetace for controlling him, and escaped the Kin and went to explore the normal world. In the process, he started reading literature, and on the way encountered the book Moby Dick. The book resonated with him, perhaps in ways unintended, and was inspired by the book to take vengeance against the Kin and Cetace, and changed his name to Captain Ahab as a result. He doesn't really have a reference point for normal names so he doesn't register that Captain is a title not a name.
