Such attempts are usually verbal, but in certain instances RPC-896-1 may use a variety of physical methods to forcefully block the subject from using RPC-896. The aforementioned "physical methods" usually revolve around the manifestation of certain objects within line of sight of RPC-896. See Addendum 896.1 for examples of physical methods utilized by RPC-896.

RPC-896 will not be tarnished by any and all of RPC-896-1's attempts at deterring any subjects from using RPC-896, despite inflicting damage to the surroundings.
replace "tarnished" with "damaged", and, does gandhi actually summon nukes out of the screen? this seems like it would warrant a higher threat classification

Replacing components of RPC-896 with those from non-anomalous Midway classic 19" vertical monitor upright cabinets does not cause RPC-896 to lose it's anomalous properties.

In order to accelerate research into RPC-896, permission to use RPC-896 for testing was granted on 29/03/19. First tests to be conducted in April 2019.
alright that explains the bit earlier, but still doesn't explain why the authority would give a GOI an anomaly
and the next part is fine, except saying "jeff" in a serious end-article stinger really ruins the tension
overall this is a fucking behemoth of an article, it's mostly well-written, but it has a few plot holes and stingy dialogue choices, as well as a convoluted story to it

The last part of this has already been stated, so if you wanted something more to remove, you could remove this.
I like what you've done with this. You've expanded upon Jeff and the thing's relationship, as well as creating a pretty interesting story. I also like how dark you portrayed the array, really gives them a more sinister feel.
The article is quite long, that much is true. However, it is well written and fairly interesting.
The only real plot hole I noticed is how 896 was able to connect to the internet, I suppose that could be attributed to Civ 5's normal functions, which you mention, but I would add a small footnote or something highlighting this fact.
Aside from that, I found this article to be very well written.
Nice work.
896 didn't actually directly connect to the internet, it just spawned a robot and a USB stick.
