Dark Vote has attracted a little controversy, and I know why. Many heavy CSS pages that relied on the infrastructure of the white theme, and many SCP blocks of code that we copied over are no longer functional. While I see this as a good thing, moving away from re-using code and creating our own, I can also see the bad, making many pages have to be slightly re-done and re-worked for the new theme.
We've grown a lot since the original implementation of the light theme. And with that growth comes the problem of implementing a new global theme. We originally created this theme to help people retain their eyes, and make it easier for them to read, but if others imply that the white theme was better and easier to read, so be it.
So I propose a double jeopardy on the Dark Theme vote, and if Dark Theme wins this time, we are not switching back. And, for those of you who think we can always re-decide in the future, I want to warn you. From now on, our growth is going to inhibit change. We can't just swap themes, change colors, remove and add tabs anymore. They are integral to the site, and require large, sprawling changes that could take days to fix.
So vote, and let your voice be heard.
