Storage room of RPC-XXX is to only be accessed when bringing in new instances of RPC-XXX, no instances of RPC-XXX is are to be brought out of containment under any circumstances. Any staff members caught taking out any RPC-XXX instances from containment is are to be apprehended and punished through disciplinary actions.

RPC-XXX causes these instances of these toys to grow in continuous length when bought from an online store during delivery, with their necks growing upwards in length at a similar growth rate of Phyllostachys edulis.
I'd put the common name for this in a footnote or something, just for context.
RPC-XXX instances are only affected when they are sold anonymously on an online store or online auction websites.
The household was comprised of three families who were living together for Christman Christmas and New Year.

Aside from that however, I would maybe add quarantine procedures if the creation of RPC-XXX instances spreads like a disease, it would be interesting to see how the Authority would deal with that.

There is the rare occurrence of an RPC-XXX bringing itself to the location of the buyer when it's length has exceeded 15 meters, either due to being delivered to the wrong address and or being redelivered several times around the world.
Is it an anomalous site selling them (which is why they obscure the name on the package), or is that just an additional unrelated affect that occurs when any online seller has an infected furby from their inventory sold? If it's the latter i'm not sure why they do that, specifically.

I don't think you can quote footnotes, but I think this a little bit of a clunky sentence. I'd just put "Bamboo" instead of a longer sentence about it. But also, that's way slower than these furbies grow so it might be better to just give a vague number anyway.
Overall it's a concept I like at it's core, second hand furbies that grow in length and can deliver themselves if they get large enough to be able to move, but I don't think there's enough that pulls this article together. Giving a vague or implied reason as to why they're growing would make the piece stronger and instead of making their purpose just "grow until you reach the home of your buyer, then strangle them" maybe giving them more of a unique purpose/goal? There's nothing that ties the disparate elements of "cursed second hand furbies", "ominious phrase covering their delivery boxes", "grows" and "kills you" together in a way that brings it all together and I think that's what needs to be nailed down to make it a good/interesting article.
Not to say what's there now is bad, but it's like a lot of interesting ingredients splayed out on a counter that just need a couple more steps to be made into something greater than the sum of their parts

Apart from that, this is pretty nice! I like the imagery of a furby, instead of walking to its owner, growing to its owner. However, I do think you should have an explanation as to why the buyers are so chill with the fact that the furbies are growing in length. Maybe it has a psychological effect on them. Happy writing!
