What happens to the other proposals that don’t win? Are they just thrown out or do they become their own articles? Can we use them for our own articles after the contest?

With all do respect, shouldn't the voting period remain open for at least a few more days after the posting period ends? It'd be a shame if several good-quality entries were posted at the last minute, only for them to get a few upvotes before the winner was chosen. It'd eliminate the reason for the posting period to be open so long if you didn't, anyways. Right now, it's just who can make a good entry the quickest, rather than who can make the best entry.
