I hope this becomes our version of 'amnesiacs.' It's much more creative and it has potential to be its own RPC entry.

I hope some of the higher-ups catch wind of this soon. I'd love for this concept to be at the very least recognized or even be made official à la the Object Class logos by James Pitchford. I look forward to seeing this concept fleshed out even further in the future, I only wish I had some ideas to contribute towards this myself.

Really enjoying this idea, but maybe the abreviation could be simpler. For Example, EG-3 (Exergito Glyph 3).

I'm a fan of this idea. Seems like it'd be far more convenient for field agents, too - just pull out the device, flash someone with it, and they're out cold. It's definitely a nice alternative to boring old amnestics.

I totally agree with the ease of use thing. The basic widely used application are pistol like devices with a small display inside, that can select between the different types. Of course the device is different enough not to be mistaken as a normal pistol.

An agent is in the field and is trying to re-contain something that's run into a house. The family are unaware and all chaos erupts as he enters, he quickly raises the device already set to G-4, and quickly aims at each and activates it. Within that second, the family has become unconscious, and the agent continues his hunt. After the RPC is safely removed, an agent targets each member with a G-1 using the same device and operatives place the civilians into their respective beds, leaving no trace behind of their ever being there.

That's more what I'm seeing with the glyphs. They're open ended, just needing the glyph, a color, and flashed at a certain frequency, so they're really able to be used in a lot of creative ways, as with the satellite array.

The basic idea is nice, but I think the use of glyphs and an involved process to make them work isn't very practical. The SCP chemical amnestic thing worked because it was feasible that a secretive organization would hit you with a needle and make you forget you ever saw anything. "Amnestics" should definitely be replaced, but with something simple. Think of how simple, easy to understand, and easy to use the Neuralizers in Men in Black are. It should be something like that. A massive organization like the Authority should, by now, have a simple, easy to execute and easy to transport memory wiping system. Something you can pull out of a pocket, or produce a small case full of. Something you wouldn't know someone had on them until they pulled it out.

They should also be practical and easy to understand for new readers. You don't even need to know what an "amnestic" is to know it wipes your memory.

We don’t know where the founders received the Glyphs, but their use has been documented from the very beginning of the Authority. In modern times, we use OLED Displays to achieve the needed effects, before light boxes, mirrors, and colored film.

The Extergito Glyphs are a set of Glyphs, which when combined with a color and flashed at specific frequencies unique to each of them, result in a direct ray of anomalous effect. This effect is scaled to the size of the glyph and extends directly from it at a perpendicular angle, making it easy to target individuals. The ray is unaffected by most material and terminates upon contact with living tissue, which can be effected. Listed below are the Glyphs used by Authority Agents:

TERS (G-1): This glyph results in the complete memory loss of prior 28 hours.
INAN (G-2): This glyph results in the complete loss of memory.
MUTA (G-3): This glyph allows implanting of memories and suggestion.
QUIE (G-4): This glyph is used to combat memetic danger and sedation.

Agents are equipped with display devices, with form-factor similar to fire arm grip, allowing for safe and accurate aiming. Available glyphs for agents are dependent on security level and can be easily selected using the dial on the display device. More glyphs exist, but are unnecessary for field use, have yet to be understood, or are deemed too dangerous.

For mass population incidents, a small network of satellites are equipped with display arrays, making targeting large population centers or small facilities accurate and relatively easy to carry out.

I thought it would make for something different than chemical amnestics, give a small hint to the original guard of the Authority and what they may have been finding in the old days, as well as make people wonder about the ones not being used. Amnestics eldritch anomalous cousin.

I'm thinking 5 is about the right number, but their effects, names, and all that can use fine tuning. I can make diagrams for the display devices and how they're used, if it'd help. Names for the glyphs are derived from Latin, first 4 letters for words like Empty and Alter, the G-# is to make them easier to reference in writings. "Use of EG-2 approved" for example.

It may also be that certain glyphs require longer exposure time to be effective, like with EG-2. Might require having someone tied down and in line of the ray for hours to gain the effect. I'm hoping the community can run with this idea and find the best version of it to use officially.

I do like the idea that the Authority in 1908 had to carry about these big wooden boxes, with a pictures of the glyphs in the bottom and a mirror with replaceable colored films. Had to get the frequency flashes down to a shutter operated by a gear system and a bulb or lamp.

I have an example of them being used in Drafts, with RPC-31
