    • A couple months ago, I had the idea to write an origin story for RPC-875 which would explore his transformation from a traveling witch-doctor into a rampaging warlord. One of my goals was to dive deeper into the indigenous beliefs of the Congo and feature cross-references with other RPC anomalies to expand the lore of the Congo Wars in the canon.

    My research was primary drawn from the book Gesture and Power: Religion, Nationalism, and Everyday Performance in Congo. I also highly recommend the book Dancing in the Glory of Monsters: The Collapse of the Congo and the Great War of Africa.
