Echolocation with gritting teeth is funny. Otherwise, its just a collection of arbitrary incidents. Also the spiral organ won't do shit without a chochlea.

Hello again, authoritarians! It's your old pal, Doc Auk, again with another review, this time on RPC-042, one of the first articles and RPCS captured by our lovely organization. Shame about the corporal and his team leader, but not every authority strike force is perfect, unless it's the angels of Eden, in which case they are perfect, but I digress.

Now onto the review! I thought this article was enlightening on one of the many humanoid RPCS of this earth, 042 sure is scary isnt he? Or is it a she? well whatever it is, I think I can say for everyone here that i wouldnt want to see that thing in an alleyway in Good ol' UK, eh? The anatomy lesson within the article does a pretty good job at describing the vile decomposing appearance of this Aztec monstrosity, though it seemed to go into detail about the dentition instead of the more notable feature of this anomaly. THE SCREAMING!

Ay, the screaming, Jeez, I still get nightmares thinking about it, and the audio certainly didn't help with it either, even if it was redacted by our lovely redaction team. reminds me of when I was in Reality-6984-B, the one where the Aztec Empire ruled the world. I could hear those bastards prowling the streets at night, looking for innocent citizens to rip apart with their bone fingers and deafen with that infernal screaming. makes me shiver in this lab coat I "borrowed" from researcher Miles. I should probably give it back to him one of these days

Anyways, I give this one a solid 7 out of 10, felt a bit dry at parts, and i wouldve loved to have learn more about that scream they did, maybe a paragraph describing the vocal cords, oh, and their weakness to bright flashing lights, like how that team used flashbangs to subdue it! that sort of stuff

A surprisingly mediocre and dry article. Besides the page design and the near image nothing makes it stand out in particular - everything that the article consists of doesn't feel like it is there for the sake of telling the story and expanding it in an interesting way, but because it is expected to be there. An irresponsible researcher, a fight with security, a breach… I should note that this is a crit that does not take into account the history page since it is effectively a separate article on its own and it was made after the original upload.

Obviously inspired by SCP-096, but spun differently enough that it stands perfectly on its own as an RPC. The picture was quite nice as well. I enjoyed it.

It's a fun monster and I don't have any problems with the actual substance of it. But the pacing and presentation of content don't do it much service at all. I think creepy monsters are perfectly capable of being good articles but they need to make up for it with effective presentation and supplemental content, but the interviews of Dr. Chrome and the MST's corporal are just depictions of comedic incompetence, not really showcases of the RPC's power or abilities. This, in addition to a massive slew of grammatical errors, make this an article in dire need of another pass-over.

I really don't get the appeal of this article. The tone is pretty far off, with contractions and typos all about. I ignored the supplemental report because it's a separate article with a separate rating module. There was never any progression or a section that made me feel interested to read further, it was just a slog. 2/5

Given how Mesoamerican mythology is a fascination of mine, and how this is a horrifying beast that actually uses parts of such mythology, along with the use of an actual Aztec death whistle makes this a solid 4.5 for me. Just absolutely amazing! One of the best on the site.
