I really love the premise but the dialogue rubbed me the wrong way.

Why does he yap so much? For someone as bored as him, I mean?

His demenour I don't feel is very original, despite his character troubles being interesting.

Also the concept of a veteran researcher of the anomalous being this stiff and unflexible when his entire job is studying that which deviates from reality and almost never having a complete answer (in-universe) is a bit unbelievable, however I do understand it's supposed to be a meta-narrative.

Wowzers! The entity just claiming it was just somebody doing their thing without any larger force behind it was a really pleasant surprise. Also liked how RPC-228-B gave a researcher a potential existential crisis. I wish there was more of a focus on the other reality RPC-228-B was trading with. Could've have led to a lot more captivating premise.

Not a crazy piece, but was still satisfying all around. 4 stars.

I wonder what's up with this taking place in 2066 - 2068 though.
