The clinical tones and grammar upon re-reading makes this seem a bit rushed, but the idea is fleshed out and expansive. No vote, but I'd 3/4 star in its current state.

Well, someone dropped the n-word…

There's a few times where some words feel bizarrely un-clinical like for example "cheerfully serving", which feels not clinical…but it also seems to fit the writing, so i'm left conflicted.

And finally written about the mysterious US-AOI. Well done.

This has some minor tonal issues- namely referring to the anomaly consistently as "he", but I like the tone of vague and palpable menace you've got going throughout. This is how to do a "political" article that doesn't feel preachy.
