There's a good concept here. It just isn't developed, and instead the addenda are focused on bland additions to it. Almost everything below the description detracts from, instead of building upon it.

This is a really promising concept but the article would need to go into more depth to explore it sufficiently. There’s different avenues you could take: Were the Authority able to establish full communication with them, and what did they discuss with them? What is the alternate reality like? (I could see some great opportunity for descriptions of landscapes and cityscapes within this bizarre, bent reality.)

I think these two avenues are the most promising and you should consider exploring them in the article before posting to the main site. Upvoting because I liked the core of the article and think it could be made into something great.
