Good job! However, I feel like the article is a bit wordy. The description is long and therefore repeats some things at times. And the notes after each sample I think are a bit unecessary and on-the-nose, since the reader can figure out the true context by themselvs.

I love the idea of possibly powerful anomalies just obsessing over normal people. The bit at the end where his death causes the cult to start collapsing is pretty true to what would happen in such a scenario.
