I hate to rate articles low for being too long, but good god, this is almost 2000 words of nothing. As an RPC, it's a standard concept that gives no narrative in its very long reading time. As a document, it's just boring. There was evidently a lot of effort put into the details, but I have no sympathy for an article that doesn't want to be an article. The writing is substandard, with contractions and bad tone scattered about here and there and most of the description belonging in the Containment Protocols. I don't want to be the guy who's "just in it for the cool anomalies" and won't read up on any of the lore, but this is such a slog. Legitimately everything I dislike about this website, and the least enjoyable of my Malthus article binge by far. 1/5

man i don't WHAT the hell is going on here. the article doesn't seem to mention anything other than how to make this stuff into prosthetics. if it were framed as a document meant specifically for people who harvest and refine the stuff I might be more lenient with it, but it's not. the article leaves several questions unanswered, such as:
-why are we feeding this thing
-why can't people enter the containment area between harvestings
-why do we give it chunks of metal before we harvest it
-why is it kept cold
-why is it purple
-are there any procedures for RPC-270-2 or -3
-what is the anomaly's physical composition
this article is a mess

Delicious use of a not-particularly-original concept, with just the right amount of pseudoscience and formality to be interesting and easy to read. The Discovery section is entirely redundant and could easily be cut, as its purpose is better served by the short mention of Malthusian operatives continuing to use "remnants" of the main mass.

+5
