So first: Remember that crit is not a "this sucks, do it over", it is a correction of missed details and suggestions for how to improve. Don't delete this draft because people crit it and point out things that have been missed, are incorrect, or need refining. That's the nature of the beast, and you're not gonna get it perfect right away.

That said, let's begin. My clinical tone proficiency isn't the best, so wait for someone else's crit to get that handled.

+ Crit

- Done with Crit

RPC-XXX designate…

Should be 'designates'.

I noticed you repeat 'As well,' at the beginning of two sentences in the paragraph beginning with 'The descent connecting RPC-XXX-A…'. I suggest finding a new conjunctive adverb for one of those.

it has been ascertained that this construction could not have been solely created by RPC-XXX.

Could not have been created by the destruction of a town? Not sure what this entails to be honest.

…with the oldest sample collected being dated as 5022 years older than the RPC-XXX-A samples…

That's a very specific number for glass being older than the material that makes up a cavern's entrance. Also don't forget the comma between the 5 and 0

For the Incident Report, I'd recommend formatting it. I'm a tad biased, but the format used in RPC-879's incident report, which I got from… Somewhere else I can't actually remember, would go quite nicely with this. Helps it from being just a big block of text. Not a requirement at all, just my suggestion.

That's all I got, personally. It's a bit out of my wheelhouse and I don't personally understand what you're going for here, but then again I'm typically not really in-tune with religious-themed stuff and therefore won't really get it anyway. As for the whole of the article, it's obviously well thought out. You've put time and work into this, and it shows. Personally I would've liked to see the inside of the cathedral, or maybe an old photo showing the inside of the former cathedral for reference, as it would have tied things together or at least provided a visual for the inside of the "church".

Good work, just needs some more polish! And remember, wait for peeps to crit the clinical tone because I for sure am not suited for that.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: Knockin' on heaven's door

1.93 meters in height and weighing 276 lbs,

You're using the metric system for the entity's height, and the imperial system for its weight. I would recommend saying "6 feet 3 inches in height and 276 lbs" or "1.93 meters in height and weighing 125 kilograms."

vessels.RPC-███’s Right “hand”

vessels. RPC-███’s right “hand”

70% pig blood and the remaining 30% being a mix of arsenic, formaldehyde, and an unidentified substance.

I would maybe be more exact with these percentages. Something like "70% pig blood, 12% arsenic, 10% formaldehyde, and 8% of an unidentified chemical compound."

Seconding MF_TOMB's suggestion about removing the line-of-sight requirement.

RPC-███ will forcibly remove the victim's clothing to replace it. Through a method that is still unknown, RPC-███ will materialize old thick fabrics from its bag and will start sewing this fabric to the victim’s body. After an undetermined amount of time, the victim's body will have a high-quality vintage dress suit or a dome-shaped full dress with intricate patterns and expressive dyes, depending on the victim's biological gender, sewn directly onto the skin.

Suggestion: What if the entity specifically ignores people who are already wearing the outfits described in this paragraph? I feel it would add a nice bit of character to the entity.

Overall, nice article. I like the picture, and the drawing in the first addendum is neat.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: Vintage Tailor

Like, yes, we know it killed and dressed up an ASF guy, and that it would do the same with man/female as well if placed in sight of it. There's nothing really new gained here that the reader can't already guess. I would suggest changing them for something more… new(?). Maybe an attempt at an interview, or seeing how it reacts with human-like figures like a mannequin and stuff. Something that ADDS to the article instead of repeating information we already know about.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: Vintage Tailor

RPC-███ is a male humanoid cyborg…

Remember that "cyborg" isn't necessarily clinical. "Augmented human" and the like is more appropriate. Try "humanoid augmented with mechanical components such as clockwork gears and springs" maybe? Use more flavorful language…

composed of bronze clockwork gears connected to a human male called Gustav Schneider, dressed in a manner to evoke the image of an early 1800s “Maßschneider” and carrying a leather bag.

Instead of "connected to a human male" try "The human components have been sourced to a 'Gustav Schneider', a tailor from 19th century Prussia" or something along those lines.

Unless active, RPC-███ does not display aggressive behaviour. RPC-███ becomes active once it visually detects a subject within a range of 45 meters. Once this happens, the subject becomes an RPC-███-A instance. Upon activation, RPC-███ will pursue the RPC-███-A at 20 km/h, limping in the direction of its target.

Unless the affect on the victim is anomalous, I'm not sure why they need to become a -A instance. It seems like the victim would just die? Unless they're like getting up from this and becoming a zombie or whatever, just address them as "the victim" instead of -A. Also, try something other than 'limping'… 'stumbling' or 'ambulating awkwardly', maybe. Be more specific in how it limps. Is this a Captain Clark situation?

If RPC-███ loses line of sight with the RPC-███-A instance, it will cease pursuit and instead ambulate within its general movement area for a random time span before returning to a dormant state.

I think it'd be creepier if it's smart enough to pursue even without line of sight. How about a timer? The victim has like, 10 minutes to escape maybe? Although if it's limping I doubt many people would actually get caught. But you can't just say 'a random time span' and put the span in a footnote. That should be spelled out. I also think the time should be consistent instead of random- we're dealing with clockwork after all…

When activated, RPC-███ will follow the RPC-███-A with its functional eye, attempting to maintain visual contact. X-ray scans have demonstrated that RPC-███ can fully rotate its upper body in a 360° range of motion to maintain eye contact with RPC-███-A.

I don't think you would need an X-ray to demonstrate that? Lol

Anyway good article… addenda are much better with good visuals that do a lot for the article. Some of the stuff in there could be used earlier?
Title says it all. I'm legit blown away. It is very obvious that this is both a new spin on the topic as well as a well crafted and lovingly thought out love letter to the genera. I can't state nearly enough how stupid of a grin I had when first reading the draft.

Very proud of everyone who put their time and effort into this to make it such an incredible piece.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: RPC-961

I think this is a pretty fair comment… althought to be even fairer, or maybe the fairest, the article is long as death as at al. Not for the best to make it longer… and also in the interest of fairness it is meant to lean into those tropes althoughever I’m not as tuned in to those frequenceids as Jokz…
I have to know though, as a solution, would you want to read tales that expanded on this? Could have links in the article I supposal.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: RPC-961

Active Notes

Pretzal

Containment Protocols
Having an MST be on standby for one particular anomaly seems an odd choice, contacting said detachment upon sighting of the anomaly seems a more logical process.

On a similar note, describing the equipment of the MST is also a bit curious, given that such would already be in their arsenal and wouldn't need to be specified in one anomaly's use. (I assume a suit of power armor is more versatile than that.)

I would exchange that red text for a footnote. The red is rather distracting.

Description
Your description tells me what Wolbachia Lupus is, not what RPC-683 is.

"Having served its purpose, the roundworm will be digested by RPC-683 and slowly metabolized into a pseudo-organ attached to the spine."
Remove "Having served its purpose," this addition is somewhat unclinical
Replace with: "Following [This/Above/etc], the roundworm…"

"Excess nutrients will be diverted into RPC-684,"
It's RPC-684 now?

"On the subject's next menstrual cycle1 following completion of the ENS, RPC-683 will trigger a body-wide transmutation."
This whole sentence reads weird for me. Specifying menstrual cycle makes it seem gender-specific and then disproving that in the footnote.
I would replace it with:
"Approximately 28 days following the completion of the ENS1, RPC-683 will trigger a body-wide transmutation."

"…the subject's and that of the Eurasian wolf,"
You've used scientific names up until this point, don't stop now! And while you're at is, add a footnote to each scientific name with the common name.

(Footnote): " Male subjects typically perish from multiple sclerosis and organ failure, as RPC-683 fails to connect to the body's reproductive system and begins to be attacked by white cells. Surviving individuals require surgical removal of the main RPC-683 node or a stable caloric deficit to prevent its growth."
This footnote reads odd, but the only obvious fix is in the first sentence.
"…as RPC-683 fails to connect to the subject's reproductive system and is thus attacked by white blood cells."

"…RPC-683-A features will become more pronounced and their connection to the central nervous system heightened as subjects make use of them."
Remove: "as subjects make use of them."

"On the next menstrual cycle,"
Your footnote specifies "typically," in regard to most males dying. What happens to those who don't menstruate at this point?

"…with most body mass center in the upper body and shoulders."
I'm not exactly certain what this is trying to say, but my best guess is;
"…with most gained body mass being centered in the upper torso and shoulders."

Discovery
Some mention of what happened prior to MST incapacitating the instances, such as them being deployed, would be nice.

Redact the officer names, they don't add to the story.

Informational Slip
Needs reworked to seem more ad-like, presently it presents as an informational slip, but is phrased like an advertisement.

Investigation
The specification of Romeo-7 adds not to the story, replace with "Authority Personnel"

"A subsequent excursion revealed it to have been a production center for Kabushiki Kawaii produce prior to the termination of its entire staff at the hands of several RPC-683-A instances a month prior. The instances, still inhabiting the complex, attacked Romeo-7 personnel on sight, with the largest one fracturing Det. Stannum Yeung's ribcage by throwing an oak table at him. Hostilities only ceased when one of the instances pleaded in favor of the Authority, recognizing them from a failed raid conducted in Switzerland back in August 3rd, 2025."
This entire paragraph needs reworked. Such a rework is presented:
"Further investigation revealed the site to have been a production center for Kabushiki Kawaii products prior to the termination of the entire staff by several RPC-683-A instances a month earlier. The instances, still present at the facility, attacked Authority personnel on sight, with one instance severally wounding Det. █████. Hostilities ended when another instance recognized the personnel present, having identified them from a raid conducted in August of 2025."

Interview
The first instance of the -A-## being used is here, at the end of the article.

Specifying "within the setting of an interview," is redundant.

Specifying the manner in which the camera is held is redundant.

I'm guessing the interview was conducted in Japanese, and if so, a descriptor pointing out the translation is necessary.

"Agent Nobuhiko: Human? Where you also not a human prior to your… [pause] contact with Kabushiki Kawaii? The scientists who operated this facility."
"Were," not "Where,"
The pause is unnecessary.
Replace the first question mark with a comma and the final period with a question mark.

I seriously doubt that the Authority would let such a group operate as this gang. They seemingly provide nothing to RPC and they are, just to refresh your memory, a bunch of homicidal werewolves!

Assessment Report
The email is an odd addition, I think.

Summary

im almost out of pretzals

The concept is fascinating. Turning a German super soldier project into a fetish product is both creative and realistic. The execution is pleasant as well, with the steady buildup of curiosity and confusion ending in a fairly satisfying ending, one that well explains most, if not all, questions.

The ending itself, however, feels slightly out of place. Turning the latter section into an ACI segment and the former into a GARD document would better suit the article.

The dialog is lacking, but given the fact that I cannot write dialog, such fixes had best be sought elsewhere.

All in all, a well written and well thought out article, but room for improvement nevertheless. Presently, I would rate it four stars, three and a half if that were an option, (ignoring the grammatical errors.)

Footnotes

1.

Subject's will experience

Drop apostrophe.

will begin to aid in the metabolizing of food.

I have wrestled with use of the word food in my articles. Maybe it's just me, but consider replacing with "nutritive intake," "ingested nutrients," "nutrients ingested by the subject," etc.

On the subject's next menstrual cycle following completion of the ENS, RPC-683 will trigger a body-wide transmutation.

Consider:

For female subjects, RPC-683 will trigger a body-wide transmutation during the subject's next menstrual cycle following completion of the ENS.

While the sexual specificity is explained more in a footnote in a later paragraph, I feel like qualifying the menstrual description with "for female" subjects helps to signal more clearly the specificity, because I was confused when reading it. I believe that since there is a clear physiological branching of effects depending on your sex with this RPC, that such an indication should be made explicit within the description.

managed to bite and subdue Lieutenant Lilly Greene before being shot at by Officer Caleb Ritter.

Consider:

managed to bite and subdue Lieutenant Lilly Greene before being struck with gunfire from Officer Caleb Ritter.

[…] to locate the primary RPC-683 production center in Japan concluded with the detention of a truck belonging […]

Admittedly a nitpick but maybe "seizure" is better in place of "detention" since its contents were confiscated and analysed, not just held in place by the MST.

Making use of specialized interrogation techniques, agents were able to obtain the route history of the truck, tracking down the collection point to an abandoned hospital in the outskirts of Yamakita.

I think that since the main point of this sentence is that the route history was obtained, it would serve you better to flip the order of the construction:

Agents were able to obtain the route history of the truck through use of Authority-specific interrogation techniques, enabling them to track down the collection point to an abandoned hospital in the outskirts of Yamakita.

I also think that "specialized interrogation techniques" reads very poorly out of place for the article, so I think you need to replace it with something more formal. When I read "specialized interrogation techniques" I see Dr. Evil providing comically-villainous exposition to Austin Powers explaining how he was able to seize him or something. To me I think this critique is more important than the construction order.

subsequent excursion revealed it to have been a production center for Kabushiki Kawaii produce prior to the execution of its entire staff at the hands of several RPC-683-A instances a month prior.

The word "execution" takes on a connotation associated with the carrying-out of an official sentencing made by some body, as opposed to what I'm led to believe by the article is feral/instinctual aggression. I think the standard catch-all "termination" is more appropriate here.

as well as a supply of rations (including sweets).

Cute!

I feel like the foreword is worded awkwardly. Consider:

RPC-683-A-31 agreed to provide information regarding Kabushiki Kawaii within the setting of an interview, in exchange for a non-intervention agreement on its gang's activities as well as a supply of rations (including sweets). It also insisted on being armed for the interview, and having it take place in the operating room of the hospital.

You omitted the word "place" in the final sentence. And maybe "gang-related" does better here.

It is wearing a wide. woven basked atop its head

Punctuational typo.

As for the narrative, concept, and execution, I have no notes. The article flips from being very grim and foreboding to pleasantly adorable with the interview. The interview makes it for me, and was cringe in the right way. I don't see a reason to continue adding content to the article in its current state.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: The Kaiser's Furred Git

I'd suggest against that, keep it with other registered anomalies for the sake of the Anomaly and Staff.

"comfortably stretch, exercise, and rest his wings" I'd personally not use gendered pronouns as I believe the Authority wouldn't see anomalies as human….but that's just me. If you wanna keep it, keep it.

"All furnishings are reinforced to" To fix this up a bit, try "All furnishings are to be reinforced to"

"A wooden cross carved by RPC-964 has been approved for permanent display within the suite." I don't know why this is here, as it doesn't pertain to containment protocols, maybe mention it shouldn't be removed for any reason?

"RPC-964 has been granted access to designated Level-1 and Level-2 personnel areas of Site-██ between 0600 and 2200 hours." I'm HIGHLY concerned about this. When allowing an anomaly the ability to roam a site you need to plan for every potentiality that could cause a containment breach. I'm personally concerned about if this anomaly were to be mind controlled, with his strength could mean BIG problems. A way to counter this would be something that could instantly knock it out, armed personnel accompanying it and limiting its free roam time to maybe a fortnightly occurrence. Another thing, lvl 2 security clearance means he has the same clearance as security staff AND he has access to RPC articles and research. I'd take that down to Lvl 1 security clearance, no anomaly should have that clearance unless they're labelled utility.

"Level-3 or higher clearance areas remains restricted unless the request is authorized by the Site Director." Once again, don't know when higher clearance would ever be authorised, but I do like there is some restraint here.

"RPC-964 routinely notifies security and the appropriate department supervisor before entering departments outside its normal schedule" Once again, I like this. Clear and concise.

"Harassment, intimidation, or deliberate provocation of RPC-964 is strictly prohibited." Lay out what the punishment would be for this. Maybe also add what to do if this does occur, like, what they do to the anomaly? Calm it down? it'll help expand the article for the better.

"RPC-964 is encouraged—but never required—to assist Site personnel with maintenance, logistics, emergency response, and other physically demanding tasks." I'm kind of concerned about this, once again for potential containment breaches or information leaks. If this were to occur, maybe put some strict guidelines, i.e. It is not to interact with any Anomalies while doing this.

"and Site-sponsored social events" Slight concern for this. I don't know how quick the anomaly is to anger, but this could be a point of concern for this to occur.

"RPC-964 identifies himself as a Christian" I feel like this would be said in the Description, not here. Maybe change it to: "RPC-X has been authorised religious paraphernalia due to its ongoing cooperation and currently possesses…"

"All items have been inspected and determined to possess no anomalous properties." This feels like it should read more like: "All items requested are to be inspected and cleared of anomalous properties before being passed on to RPC-X." It does make sense to make the assurance that these have been inspected, these are protocols, you should be describing what to do, not what has been done.

"Should RPC-964 exhibit signs of emotional distress, personnel are instructed to employ verbal reassurance before considering physical intervention" This feels like this confirms my worries about the anomaly, as allowing it to roam freely and inviting it to social events puts it at a higher risk of emotional distress.

I do like the notice, helps draw the eyes of a researcher and sticks in the mind.

Overall reading the containment protocols, i'm very intrigued about this anomaly already, but I'm very concerned with the amount of privileges it has and the lack of restrictions. When it comes to designing containment protocols, always account for the worst possible outcome. If you want to keep some of these ideas, you cold just do them on a smaller level. Perhaps scheduled social events revolving around the anomaly in its containment chamber could be allowed, with new researchers being forbidden to join and extensive vetting required for normal researchers.

I am impressed with the grammar and spelling, there's so little I needed to correct there.

+ DESCRIPTION:

- DESCRIPTION:

"weighing approximately 68 kilograms" Did you mean for it to be so light? An average human weighs that amount, but this anomaly is TALL, granted it does appear emaciated but…it should be a bit heavier going off of what I know.

"Medical examinations have shown that regenerated tissues are indistinguishable" This phrase sounds weird, maybe reword like: "Medical examinations have shown that the regenerated tissue is indistinguishable"

"no measurable physiological aging as well since the entity entered" Remove the "as well" to help improve tone and flow

"stating that he "would rather not be hurt simply to prove he will recover."" To improve clinical tone, maybe summarise instead of paraphrase "stating that it would rather not experience the pain for testing sake."

"Consequently, all further experimentation involving intentional injury has been permanently discontinued. Additional testing may only be authorized by the Site Director under exceptional circumstances." Merge these 2 sentences together to improve flow.

"Personnel familiar with the entity have noted that involuntary movements of the tail and wings frequently correspond with RPC-964’s emotional state." I feel like this belongs more to the previous paragraph than this one, but then this paragraph would be too short. I'll let you decide what to do here.

"stating that it dislikes being associated with something so evil." You could go further with the clinical tone here: "stating that it dislikes being likened to the mythical demonic entity".

"and no documented case has demonstrated a recurrence of the phenomenon following complete acclimation." What about after administered amnestics?

"or assisting Site personnel with maintenance projects" I'm still unsure about the anomaly working around the site.

"The entity has produced numerous hand-carved wooden sculptures that have been gifted to researchers, security officers, maintenance staff, and medical personnel over the course of its containment" Ok i'm not VERY concerned about this. Have they been checked for anomalous properties? Do higher ups get these gifts? Do they accept them?? I'd suggest being very careful about who gets them and if they've been checked.

"The entity has become a respected member of the Site-██ community, participating in staff functions, educational programs, recreational activities, and emergency response efforts." I'd really recommend looking into the Utility classification if you want this anomaly to be helpful around the site. Its tenure would help justify its classification, but i'm quite certain there's enough paranoid personnel around that would object to the anomaly participating in a variety of community and staff functions, seeing as the Authority is meant to contain anomalies such as these. I'm all for researchers being social with this anomaly, but I personally think it'd need to be the other way around, not staff inviting it to social events, but the anomaly inviting the staff to its own dedicated social events. I mean, "Book club with the devil" has a nice ring to it.

This description i'm a bit torn on. On one hand, it's done VERY well, with only some tone issues throughout.

+ DISCOVERY:

- DISCOVERY:

"RPC-964 voluntarily accompanied Sigma-7 personnel to a temporary Authority field camp without the use of restraints" Without restraints would be probably seen as a very bad idea. Don't expect Captain Mercer to not get out without a demotion at worst or a reprimand at best.

"Was the legend wrong, or did people notstay long enough to learn the truth?" Add a space between "notstay"

For Addendum 1: If you wanted to make this more line with my suggestions, I'd recommend just shifting the dialogue to having the personnel organise the movie night in the Anomaly's containment cell. That'd pretty much be the only change i'd make.
The mention of freaking out an electrician also concerns me, that's someone who could blab about seeing the jersey devil. Even if they were discredited, that'd draw unwanted attention. The Authority would want to ensure the lowest chance of an information leak.

For Addendum 2: The collapsible says "Hide addendum 1" when you open it up. Minor mistake but just wanted to point that out.

RPC-964: After everyone surprised me, I asked one of the researchers…
“Why?”
“Why would you celebrate my birthday?”
RPC-964: [RPC-964 pauses] I did not understand.
I'd recommend merging both these responses, so the reader doesn't get confused as to who's talking.

After looking more at how you've done Addendum 2, You go for a more narrative style of interview. It's not technically wrong, but it is unusual for how we write with clinical tone. I'm ok with this, but be ready for others not to be.

the note:
RPC-964 never changes…
..Only our perception of him does.
As corny as that is I kinda like it. The rest of the note, as i've previously stated….not too sure about inviting it to parties outside its containment chamber, but you get the idea by now.

Overall: Taking the myth a way I didn't expect.
Tone and wording is overall good, my only gripes are with the privileges the Anomaly is permitted. They're way too freeing, and leave the Authority open to information leaks and unwanted attention, and potentially putting the Anomaly in harm's way. I'm not against staff being social with the anomaly, hell I encourage it as the narrative heart of this article, but these privileges should be rethought to ensure the Authority is still keeping itself AND the anomaly safe.

Also, the anomaly is religious. I wanna see this delved a bit more into. How does a demonic looking entity hold faith in a religion that literally demonises him?

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: RPC-964

Someone else pointed that out to me in the lore server. I had misunderstood how many variations there were and elected to just generalize it to Spanish instead.

As for the story, I wouldn't be opposed to someone writing a tale centered around Harley if thats a story you wanna tell! Personally, I'm fine leaving it with the question of it because it makes you think about and personalize it.

Rather than think about "well whats gonna happen to Harley's relationships now" think about what would happen to YOURS if YOU were put into that situation. A situation of things being done to you where you had no control of your actions, and retain no memory of performing those actions.

Harley's story isn't just of workplace abuse, and I hope my slight explanation above points that out. Victims of that exact situation don't often get their stories explored, or are told they're made up, etc etc etc. In my opinion, not all angles need to be fleshed out for an intriguing story to be told, because if someone understands the nuances at hand then perhaps the story's already been told.

(If you genuinelu still don't understand though, I can tell you. Just @ me in the discord. This goes for anyone)

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: RPC-684

Translated from Latin American Spanish, Mr. Rojas' preferred language.

Which one? There's like, a lot of latin american countries.

Aside from that, this is a pretty straight forward article and its well written. Im unsure about giving it 5 stars because the story didnt resonate with me particularly. I felt that it didn't expand on what happened to Mr Harley other than "they got threatment". Like, they probably got traumatized for life and ridiculed by their closest family members, but the article doesn't expand or dwelve into that. You could make the case that this is a pristine example to explore abuse in a work environment: what some might call a harmless prank could have devastating life consequences for others.

I like the article, but it could use one extra paragraph about the consequences of Guillermo's actions. 4 stars.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: RPC-684

I'm especially a sucker for the Veil Rippers. They're a really interesting GoI and I like seeing what all these disorganized conspiracy theorists think about the RPC Authority. Needless to say, this article hooked me the moment I laid eyes on it. "BBL" is characterized very well and I enjoy his interactions with the other forum members. Really felt like I was reading an actual internet forum. The biggest room for improvement you have is nailing the clinical tone and smoothing out some of the jankiness of the flow. Otherwise, bravo!

[+]LBL

[-]BBL

Right off the bat, I like the web format.

THE FOLLOWING IS AN ARCHIVED DOCUMENT FROM A NOW DEFUNCT FORUM “THE WARREN VAULTS” PREVIOUSLY OPERATED BY THE VEIL RIPPERS

THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR TRAINING PURPOSES ONLY FOR AGENTS OPERATING WEB CRAWLER 3.2.4

This notice flows kinda weird. Try:

THE FOLLOWING IS AN ARCHIVED THREAD FROM “THE WARREN VAULTS,” A DEFUNCT WEB FORUM PREVIOUSLY OPERATED BY THE VEIL RIPPERS

THIS DOCUMENT HAS BEEN ARCHIVED FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAINING AGENTS OPERATING WEBCRAWLER 3.2.4

This is going to be pretty intense. The conditioning needs to be constant and repetitive. On top of that, if you’re hit with these things, even if you’re lucky enough to be resistant, your brain is going to get scrambled. If you’re not cool with not remembering your birthday, your mom’s face, or even what the plot of Shrek was, then just take the pills and be happy forgetting. Some of the people I know who followed these instructions lost their minds. A couple even got banned, their posts got so incoherent.

There's something I never really read a lot of in mainline RPCs — the side effects of amnestics-er, "amnesiacs." I really like that this paragraph touches on that.

However, the underlined sentence is kind of weird. If you're not cool, then be happy forgetting? I'd assume OP meant "If you're cool with remembering your birthday, your mom, etc." Also the plot of Shrek seems like a pretty random addition, and I feel like including it last kind of emphasizes it more than the other two (more important) subjects. Try:

If you're cool with forgetting your favorite movie, your birthday, or your mom's face, then just take the pills and be happy forgetting.

Amnesiacs Types:

I feel like this section should be placed somewhere before Method 1.

Method 2: Trained Resistance

I think this one can be split into the four methods OP suggests. In addition, this section has two "final methods."

It’s no joke, this is your brain, and this is your brain on amnesiacs.

I know it's referencing the "This is your brain on crack" PSA but without visuals it doesn't make all that much sense. Maybe make a more on-the-nose egg pun that can kind of lead up into the "Whole Breakfast Club here" line.

By the way, you are using the term Amnesiacs wrong.

Nice. I like that he deliberately made the mistake. The reply also characterizes BBL really well.

And speaking like you know me, my gf is in the other room right now. I can take a picture and prove it.

Oh I really like the characterization here. He's like an over-defensive, over-combative hard-ass. Sweet.

so don’t lecture me a vet veil ripper about shit YOU don’t know about!

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me you little bitch?! Love this guy. Sad that the thread ends there.

The Warren Vault was taken down by Authority operations…

Wasn't it called "The Warren Vaults?" Also, "Authority operations" is kind of vague. Either say it was shut down by Authority webcrawler operators or just by "The Authority"

This page has been archived both to act as a training piece for Authority agents, as well as demonstrating what disorganized surveillance groups like the Veil Rippers are capable of learning.

Flows weird. Try:

This page has been archived to train new webcrawler operators snd to display the capabilities of the Veil Rippers and their affiliates.

BBL, also known as Chris Dillon, is monitored more directly by Authority personnel. Evidence suggests that Chris has only had one encounter with the anomalous that warranted amnestics, where they were given a lower dose than recommended for their weight. Chris Dillon, to date, has yet to encounter any further anomalous activity according to all Authority reports, cessation of surveillance currently under review. As can be seen, a possible threat to the veil was dealt with that did not require needless resource expenditure; or even worse termination with a needed cover.

I like that you mention what happened to Brazilian Butt Lift after the site went down. However, referring to Chris by his first name after the first mention of his name is not exactly in line with a clinical tone.

As can be seen, a possible threat to the veil was dealt with that did not require needless resource expenditure; or even worse termination with a needed cover.

That last part doesn't feel very clinical. Try:

This example shows that not every threat to the veil requires needless resource expenditure and/or the termination of all non-Authority personnel involved.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: Webcrawler Operator Training Module

Not too many corrections from me. Most of what I have is praise, so let's just get the bits outta the way first:

The entity would search human subjects it considers…

There should probably be a "for" between "search" and "human" here.

##8f8f8f|You're turning on us that quickly?

Messed up the coding

And that's it as far as I'm concerned. You may want to get a third piece of crit, because my grip on clinical tone has been and will likely continue to be shabby at best. But regarding the characterization, the storytelling content and the general overarching story told within, you and those you worked alongside have made this an absolutely spectacular entry.

I'll be doing an actual breakdown and applause once this is officially posted, so get to it quickly! Just know I spent the last hour or so sitting on my work computer with the stupidest grin reading through every little bit of this.

I need fanart, stat

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: Magical Girls / The Holy Knights of Love, Truth, and Justice

The one time it was getting interesting, the footage is cut short. I won't lie and say I wasn't bored for a minute or two reading through the 614 fight and the latter half of the Comiket log. Both establish a connection between them and K.K. anomalies, but they go on for longer than they need for characterization and cover singular plot points each, which is criminally few for how much this concept has to offer.

As much as I like your character writing, it didn't do it for me here, as I thought it got bloated by the extraneous exchanges in the fight scenes. And as much as I love the theme, I wish there was some say or sort of ceremonial farewell from Chomu to retired magical girls. It's a very personal character article, and somehow I did not care much for them (except maybe Pretty Pink). I ended up waiting for Chomu to appear and make it interesting again.

That said, it's not without its good moments. Much of the anomaly and GOI description as well as Chomu herself are a blast. Also:

Their battles often resulted in significant property damage and widespread public disturbances, requiring extensive efforts from the Japanese government and the Authority to suppress information and maintain the integrity of the Veil.

I love the implication that this spurred a new wave of magical girl anime, namely Madoka. This, in turn, had me thinking: what if magical girl anime early on in the 80s was based around Wonderland? Some Japanese mangaka were given that insight through unknown means, which let them prepare and condition the Japanese for Chomu's arrival.

Perhaps cause I was going into this with high expectations that I'm a little disappointed. But I digress; it's a good article, and the coming-of-age theme had me feel very nostalgic, especially in the blog sections.

+ Writing

× ow my back

in our polite society.

Polite sounds off here. If there was no incident to confirm this, it should say something along the lines of extreme durability (for lack of a better term atm :X).

vigilante activities throughout Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

remained active for approximately 6 months before retiring; citing a spinal injury and the pressure to finish secondary school entrance examinations as a the reason.

Mieko ████

There are at least two other instances of misspelling Meiko.

However, following a 2008 investigation by ASIACOM into this phenomenon, it was discovered that the data was manually altered or deleted by personnel. Further inquiry identified the responsible individual as RPC-XXX itself, acting under legitimate Authority credentials.

Doesn't this invalidate the incognito veil from being strictly anomalous?

or its supposed declaration of resignation in 200█ was ever found.

I don't see a point in redacting a 2-year margin, since a year already has 12 months to trace from, nor do I see what's actually sensitive information here to redact.

Unlike RPC-XXX-1-1 before them

I suggest using -A or -α for the instances, since RPC-XXX-α-1 is clearer as a particular instance. I bring this up cause for a hot minute, I thought this referred to a whole group, and that RPC-XXX-1 was Meiko specifically.

Image: RPC-XXX and Team Exusiai (2012)

Personal taste, but I think the shock of realizing Chomu is in the picture (it took me a second to see her) is broken when the image zoom is enabled.

RPC-XXX-1-3 is also able to determine the air density inside the pocket, sometimes producing bubbles capable of raising herself into the air, or with an obfuscating smoke.

Please continue.y.

I'd already been watching because she seemed frightened, and then this little girl in blue started chasing after her.

I fail to understand how the first half of this sentence is relevant at all, characterization and flow alike.

But she couldn’t reach him her

(Hirayama takes a short break to drink water.)

A break tends to imply it's longer than a minute. Which makes it seem like he sat there and meditated for a whole minute as he drank his cup of water.

The girl inside… well, she was scratching at it like a cat, but it didn't break at all. That bubble. After that, the blue girl started lecturing her again

Try:

The girl inside… she started scratching that bubble like a mad cat, but it refused to burst. The girl in blue was lecturing her again as that happened.

The weapon is capable of firing projectiles with sufficient force to destroy inanimate objects; however, when used against living targets, the projectiles only produce blunt-force impacts

You should note those blunt-force impacts are non-lethal or moderate enough in force, as with enough blunt trauma you can kill someone.

And to think, she's only twelve! She's very mature for his age, isn't she?

The transcript is from 2009. Since she was born in 1998, she would be 11 the next day.

RPC-XXX-1-4 is lying here. It is by this point, the entity has gotten suspicious of ██████ TV.

This seems badly exposited as a footnote. I think it's better off included in the afterword or removed.

(The camera begins following her.) (Glimmer Green stops walking but does not turn around.) (After a brief pause, the cameraman stops. Glimmer Green bows one final time before leaving the frame.)

A nitpick, but since she has not turned, she'd be bowing away from the camera.

the website would invariably reappear shortly after its deletion through anomalous means.

It's a little difficult to believe they learned it's, in fact, anomalous and not simply unknown without a given reason. Perhaps "through unknown means, suspected to be anomalous in nature."

Rescue the kitten in on the tree!

"In" implies it's inside the bark (like a squirrel) or actually part of the tree itself.

But she might just be the cutest expensive-looking toy in the world.

I think an exclamation mark here would be more in character.

Claudetta can actually take on a human form!? And she’s super cute!!

No crit here, I just love how endearing this lil trivia is.

Come to think of it, why did I never think that? (lol)

left numerous security blind spots that which let bad actors have taken advantage of them.

One of the Kurobane Nobuyuki (黒羽伸行), a senior executive of the company and the chief logistics officer of the Kyoto network. Kurobane has gained a fascination with RPC-XXX and Team Exusiai, and was responsible for orchestrating many of the group's battles in what he called an "experiment in engaging narratives".

Comma splices and period misplacements. That would be needless to say.

Despite his apparent age and gray hair, the subject has a youthful appearance and exhibits unusually energetic mannerisms.

Apparent old age but youthful appearance. The former word stems from appearance, so you should specify what looks old and what looks young. Old: wrinkles and gray hair.
Some responses as I work through these! Thank you so much for your input here it's super helpful!

how so? is it kept inside a box? a locker? with a piece of cloth covering it? does it not have a lense cap? does "pointed at" only count line of sight?

I'll add in some specifics to what it's kept in. It does not have a lens cap, I had mentioned it in a footnote I've since deleted. I'll think something up here!

Also, is this person supposed to be the content creator who, I assume, was kidnapped against their will for these photos?

This would have been a model of some kind. Either another cosplayer or a small-time fashion model. Also, the models and such are actually not kidnapped just coerced/paid into doing a photoshoot only for it to be anomalous shit they won't remember. I meant to put that in the discovery but had to leave work before I could. Clicked Save instead of Save Draft ^^;

I'm glad you like it! This is a bit of a deviation from my usual tone so I'm quite nervous. I'll be fully going through Adejny's crit tomorrow at work as it is currently quite late for me.1

Footnotes

1. Also, why "often"? What are the other possibilities here? Do they need to try on several outfits before saying so? If not, remove "often" - and I'd also shorten it to "they [often] will claim to be"

and will wait for direction

and wait for instructions* (double will in the same sentence + "instructions" makes more sense here)

however, they will

unnecessary "however"

it will have the normal function of a typical camera

I'd shorten to "it will function as a", try not to overuse "will" and terms of vagueness such as "often" or "may" in articles unless explicitly necessary

However, should a picture be taken of an instance of RPC-XXX-A, they will enter into a state of much stronger suggestion than before. RPC-XXX-A's brain will become much less active, allowing them to be much more suggestible than before.

I'd change this to something more precise like an acute state of delirium (doesn't mean crazy, look it up) and sedated, altered consciousness. Also, you can cut out " they will enter into a state of much stronger suggestion than before. RPC-XXX-A's " and just join the two sentences together since they both regard the same thing, otherwise you'd be repeating the "suggestible" bit twice

while keeping them within shot of RPC-XXX's camera lens

while keeping in the camera's frame*

Should there be 20 photos taken of a given RPC-XXX-A instance, the 21st photo taken will have the flash on whether or not it was active prior or not.

The 21st picture taken of a given RPC-XXX-A instance, whatever it was previously active or not, will have its camera flash on*

products, however all changes to the instance have been entirely cosmetic, with no changes to the RPC-XXX-B instance's internal structure.

I'd change the comma for a period and remove the however. Also, you should probably denote what is a -B before talking about it. Maybe specify whatever or not those cosmetic changes eventually revert or not.

20 minutes pass following

remove "pass"

I gotta this, this is a REALLY creepy and uncomfortable anomaly, and that's really good!!!! It's exactly what I'd expect KK to pull off. Maybe leaning into a more clinical tone of its effects could further enhance the creepy factor.

Discovery:

At the time of the raid, an instance of RPC-XXX-B was discovered dressed as an instance of RPC-614 and was terminated on-sight.

the image of an MST squad stumbling into a catgirl in a maid outfit and blowing their shit smoove off is really funny ngl. Also, is this person supposed to be the content creator who, I assume, was kidnapped against their will for these photos?

Incident Report XXX-9:

Control, yes Mister Rojas?

Change comma to period, and a comma after "yes"

Interviewer: Mares Mares

Mares Mares? Typo, or very odd name?

Final Thoughts:

It was pretty good! Honestly, I don't have much to complain about. I do have some suggestions.

I already explained that a bit more clinical tone could help to the creep factor, and maybe expanding on just how much the subject is suggestible after repeated shooting. Otherwise, and I know this may not perhaps be the type of stuff you like to write, which is fine, but I feel you could've gone further with the Incident Report to really drive in how dangerous this thing is. I agree with Adejny in his comments to drawing parallels sexual exploitation with it.

Also, maybe have a section on the conprots about searching for any more instances of RPC-XXX in case they exist? Or something to indicate this was something made by KK or commissioned to someone by them.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: First Draft of my Terrible Trio article

General Thoughts

I like the concept. It would make sense for KK to have some tool that allows them to promote their products, especially one that doesn't require the resource-intensive process of creating a product. It does have some faults. For one, there are a lot of run-on sentences, as well as repetition of words like "however" (See LBL).

I also find the -C instances to be counterintuitive for KK. They're not like A!Co in their business practices; they wouldn't have something that plasters their illegal human trafficking scheme on social media. Plus, outside of pictures of Harley, it doesn't really tie into the rest of the article all that well. I think the -C events should be dropped.

Another element I think should be taken advantage of is the subjects trying to do impossible poses. Having the subjects sustain injuries from the commands they're given adds a degree of grounded body horror.
This could be what replaces the photos being seen by Harley's family. In the field of sex work and creation of pornographic materials, it is a very common occurrence for the subjects in those works to sustain injuries from being directed to engage in certain positions, so this would be a strong opportunity to draw some parallels to this exploitation.

I think there definitely should be a discovery log, because I'm left scratching how the Authority acquired such an object from KK. Maybe you could do something about it being a raid on a photoshoot or something to that effect.

One last minor thing is that your footnotes are inconsistent with their placement. Namely, one's at the end of sentences, some are before the period, others after.

Any other points of correction I outlined in the LBL. I do like it, just needs some kinks ironed out.

[+] LBL

[×] LBL

Containment

RPC-XXX's battery charge must be checked on a daily basis, as doing so does not have any adverse effects this can be done by any Authority staff of level 2 or higher.

Run-on sentence. Add a period after effects.

"Member" should be added after Authority staff.

RPC-XXX is not to have its lens pointed in the direction of a sapient being except during testing.

You could rephrase this to: "Directing RPC-XXX's lens in the direction of any sapient being outside of testing is prohibited."

"My OC, Don't Steal"

Funny, but I feel a more appropriate name should've been chosen. Plus, the protocol isn't elaborated on, so the reader would have no idea what this means.

Any abuse of their suggestibility will result in fitting punishment up to and including termination.

"Fitting Punishment" should be changed to "disciplinary action" for a better clinical tone.

Description

RPC-XXX is a full-frame mirrorless photography camera capable of placing a given subject, referred to as RPC-XXX-A, into a complacent state upon having the camera's lens pointed at them.

Run-on sentence. Could be rephrased as: "RPC-XXX is a full-frame mirrorless photography camera. Any subject that has RPC-XXX's lens directed at them will enter a complicit state. Subjects that enter this state are designated as RPC-XXX-A.

Should also mention it's never specified what happens if multiple subjects are captured in a picture, or if someone turns the camera to take a photo of themself.

Drop "an outfit of that make or design." and just end the sentence at "wear"

The only exception to this is if the outfit is undersized to an uncomfortable degree, though they will only complain about the outfit's tightness while still trying to put it on.

Could be rephrased as: "The only exception to this is if the outfit is undersized to a degree in which RPC-XXX-A can't wear it."

The part about RPC-XXX-A complaining about the tightness should be dropped. If the subjects retain their personalities, then it's possible some wouldn't argue.

Should the pose requested be physically impossible for the individual to perform, however, they will attempt to perform the pose as accurately as possible without resorting to self-injury.

Can be rephrased as: "Should the pose requested be physically impossible for the individual to perform, they will attempt to perform the pose as accurately as possible."

it will have the normal function of a typical camera.

Can be rephrased as "…it will function equivalently to any non-anomalous camera."

RPC-XXX-A's brain will become much less active, allowing them to be much more suggestible than before.

This sentence should be dropped. It repeats information already stated in the previous sentence.

Any order given, while keeping them within shot of RPC-XXX's camera lens, will be carried out to exact specifics within possibility

Commas aren't needed.

An impossible task will seemingly be ignored, with no response from RPC-XXX-A.

Redundant information that was already specified earlier in the article.

Should there be 20 photos taken of a given RPC-XXX-A instance the 21st photo taken will have the flash on whether or not it was active prior or not.

Can be rephrased to: "When at least 20 photos are taken of an RPC-XXX-A instance, the 21st photo will have the flash active."

You could also reduce the number of photos needed to be taken before -A transition into -B. Maybe something like 5 or 7.

The flash of this particular photo will exceed that of 200,000 Lumens, temporarily blinding all subjects present though not leaving any lasting ocular damage with no exception to proximity.

Run-on sentence. Add a period after subjects.

Everything following subjects can be rephrased as: "No lasting ocular damage has been observed following RPC-XXX's flash."

Also, now starting to wonder: how does RPC-XXX know it's on its 21st picture? Does it just flashbang people every 21 pictures? Lowkey can see an evil fucked-up utility use case for this.

During this time, the RPC-XXX-A instance's form will temporarily morph to become physically similar to known Kabushiki Kawaii products,

Replace comma period with a period.

however all changes to the instance have been entirely cosmetic, with no changes to the RPC-XXX-B instance's internal structure.

Can be rephrased to something like: "All changes to RPC-XXX-B's physical appearance are superficial, with no bearing on its internal anatomy."

I've stated before I think all the -C instances should be removed, but if you're persistent with keeping them in, I recommend placing the paragraphs about them before the table featuring the different -Bs.

In between the Description and Incident log, I think it would be a good place to put a discovery log.

At approximately 2035, within the Anomalous Objects storage wing, Guillermo Rojas, the maintenance team shift lead at the time, and Harley Henderson, a newly hired member of the maintenance team, had been performing regular checks on the units surrounding and including RPC-XXX.

Run-on sentence. I think you could have the positions of Rojas and Henderson be footnotes.

He then proceeded to take another nineteen photos,

Inconsistency: The flash occurs on every 21st photo, but here it occurs on the 20th.

Also, the number is spelled out instead of being written "19". Though maybe it's because it's an incident report? Discard if true.

Finding this comical

This can be dropped for brevity.

Mares: You understand how much trouble you're in, yes?

Can be rephrased as:

Mares: You understand the severity of this situation, Mister Rojas?

End of LBL

[×] LBL

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: First Draft of my Terrible Trio article

A pretty good read through and through. Tho, as Ade mentioned, the anomaly takes a huge backseat in the story, and it is hardly explored at all prior to the chatlogs.

5 stars, it could be 4 but c'mon guys its Sonic!!!!

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: RPC-838

Unironic comedy gold, but would be pretty bad for a main series article. Humanoid RPCs are pretty hard to write in a believable manner, especially for your first article, so my best recommendation is to try and stick to something small like an inanimate anomalous object.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: RPC-841

http://rpcsandbox.wikidot.com/cosplay-photo-shoot

Hello hello! Took a break from one project to work on this one. I'm p happy with it overall, but I know for a fact I messed up on the clinical tone.

Lemme know how to improve it! It's not the most complex of articles but that's by design this time around!

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: First Draft of my Terrible Trio article

Lately I've seen an influx of "Character-driven RPCs", and this is yet another one that I've enjoyed thoroughly from beggining to end. 5 stars, well deserved

The clinical tone, grammar, and agressive dialogue made by the Authority may be off putting, but it does nothing to undermine the article.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: RPC-692

I read through this, and there are a lot of oddities that make me wonder if AI wrote this.

From the containment protocols lacking information on how the anomaly is contained to the strangeness of the description. Even things like "D-XXX" instead of CSD, and the formatting as a whole does not instill much confidence in its authenticity.

I think the concept is really neat, but it would be preferable if it were written by your hand rather than by a machine.

Forum category: Writing & Drafts / Drafts
Forum thread: Please for the love of god, do not read this.
