First story line. The RPC, upon getting a handle on the situation, attempts to understand why the earth stood still(pun intended). They investigate and discover the GOI that caused it. "FBXXX", a GOI that believes February always had 30 days in it but the days are being held secret by the government for whatever reason. The leadership don't actually believe that BS, but continue to keep it to recruit people. FBXXX recently discovered the world of the anomalous, and decided to use it as a recruiting tool. They created RPC-XXX in order to "prove" that February has 30 days, commanding the earth to stay still for 2 days to create the illusion that February had 30 days. Unfortunately, they weren't careful, and didn't specify that the moon or other satellites(natural or otherwise) should also freeze.

The RPC has no idea how to fix the situation, with the main character being tasked with coming up with ideas to revert RPC-XXX or otherwise fix the situation. The main character goes through various ideas, some good and some bad, before the RPC decides on a totally not permanent solution of faking the moon's light and scrubbing any mention of the moon affecting tides from human knowledge.

Story line two. This one follows the same beginning as story line one, up until they try to come up with a solution. The RPC coerces FBXXX into reversing RPC-XXX. During the ritual to reverse RPC-XXX, a member of FBXXX revolts and messes up the ritual, resulting in the earth freezing in place relative to…some unknown object. The result is that the solar system leaves Earth behind, slowing freezing the planet. The same main character from before now has to deal with the existential dread of knowing he will die, and being unable to do anything about it. Mortally wounded during a firefight, the main character has his robot arm thing(similar to death stranding)shoot him as he's too much of a coward to kill himself.

He wakes up the day of the incident that caused the earth to be abandoned, still having the memory of before he died. He believes that he is immortal. He arms himself and kills the members of FBXXX who were supposed to carry out the ritual in order to stop them. He's imprisoned and sentenced to death because of this. His last words are something like "I'm immortal, I'll just come back!". He's not immortal. He dies, forever.
